Bloke's life completely changed after he won biggest ever cash prize on British TV

Nobody's ever won more money on a gameshow in the UK than this bloke

If you settle down to watch quiz shows and game shows on telly, then you'll generally watch the winners walk away with a few thousand quid.

However, those sums are absolutely minuscule when compared to the biggest jackpot ever won by a contestant on a British game show.

You might reckon that the top spot would be shared by the short list of people who won Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? or the couple who just recently bagged a million quid on the Limitless Win.

They come close but don't quite take the top spot, and that's because nobody has quite come close, assuming we're not counting Squid Game: The Challenge as a British game show as that was more of an international thing.

The absolute king of the British game show is one Graham Fletcher, who back in 2012, bagged himself a jackpot of £1.5 million on Ant and Dec's show Red or Black.

Graham Fletcher had the choice of Red or Black, and he rightly chose Black.

A 32-year-old carpenter at the time of his incredible win, Graham decided to bet it all on black in the end, and that turned out to be one of the best decisions of his life.

Right after winning his incredible prize he told Ant and Dec that he could 'finally spend as much time as I want with my wife and kids, which is all I want to do'.

Winning a prize like that has quite a transformative effect on life, according to The Sun, he moved his wife Lucy and their three children into a nice new house with the money.

Even more importantly, he said at the time that he was 'stress-free over money', which came as a huge relief for someone who said he was 'naturally a worrier'.

Of all the things that come with winning such a massive jackpot that has surely got to be one of the sweetest rewards of all, feeling the heavy hand of financial pressure lift from your shoulders.

Red or Black is where Graham won his fortune thanks to picking right on a roulette spin.

Graham also took his family on holiday to Cyprus, but said he would continue to work as the money meant he was able to pay off his debts and get going again.

That sounds pretty sensible, as even with a sum as large as £1.5 million it could soon be diminished by big purchases like a house.

You won't pay tax on your game show jackpot, but if you act like becoming a millionaire means you're going to be living the millionaire lifestyle forever, you'll soon be back where you started.

Here's hoping Graham's still doing well and still lives a happy life where he's stress-free over money.
