Louis Walsh reveals lockdown cancer diagnosis on Celebrity Big Brother

Louis Walsh reveals lockdown cancer diagnosis on Celebrity Big Brother

The former X factor judge said 'no one knew he was sick'.

Louis Walsh has revealed that he was diagnosed with a 'rare' form of cancer during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The former The X Factor judge was sat with his fellow Celebrity Big Brother contestants as he made the admission on Friday's episode (15 March).

During a conversation about lockdown with Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Dragons’ Den star Levi Roots, he revealed that 'no one knew he was sick'.

Watch below:

It began when Walsh said: “I was sick, and I think nobody knew I was sick”.

Ekin-Su then asked if he had the coronavirus, and Walsh responded: “No, I had cancer – a mild version, a Waldenstrom, a rare one”.

Levi asked: “Which part? Pancreatic cancer?”

The 71-year-old responded: “In my blood, I didn’t even know that I had it until I went to the hospital, and they checked me, checked me, checked me, then they found it.

“They said it’s a rare one.”

Gesturing his head, he added: “It’s just up here, even when I go past a hospital I almost get sick.

“It’s all gone, I’m fine. It was just the shock of being sick and that word – nobody wants that word.

“I have it blocked out, it’s just a reality check, you see so many people sick and it’s terrible.

“In my world it was all about pop music and all that. I didn’t think of anybody getting sick or anything like that, and that was like wow, reality check, you’re in the real world.”

This comes after Culculoglu and Roots were evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house last night.

The likes of Walsh, David Potts and Fern Britton also faced the double eviction after housemates were asked to nominate who deserved the axe by kissing the person they had selected on the face.

Culculoglu said: “I don’t think people knew that I was being myself, and I don’t think people connected with me as if I was being myself.

“You can’t predict life and just because I won Love Island, doesn’t mean you win every show.

“Just because you win once doesn’t mean you win another one and another one, just because you have a fan base.”

The 29-year-old was nominated by her friend, Marisha Wallace, who said: “I know that if you get to the final with me, you will win the public vote.

“I know that if we go head-to-head you have a huge following, you’ve played these games before, you know how to win and if I want to win this, if I ever have a chance, I wouldn’t have a chance against you.”
