Man was shocked at how much he spent at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant after steak ‘f**k up’

He took it on the chin despite the big surprise

A punter at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants couldn't believe his luck when he found a luxury dish for what he thought was a bargain price, but when his £450 bill arrived he realised he'd made a very big mistake.

Ramsay currently holds seven Michelin stars to his name so dining at one of his eateries can be a pretty special experience, even if the 58-year-old isn't too keen on dining there himself.

The British chef is well-known for his various TV shows, even offering a job to a prison inmate back in the 2000s after being impressed by his onion cutting skills, and his incredible insults have also led to some memorable moments.

For one lad who went to his restaurant, the prospect of being called an idiot sandwich was clearly too much, as he wasn't keen on owning up after making a pretty expensive mistake, or misteak if you will, when ordering some Kobe beef.

For those of you who aren't fans of meat, Kobe is essentially the Michael Jordan of beef, but you're unlikely to find it cheaply, especially in one of Ramsay's restaurant.

Jeffrey Paige and his girlfriend had booked an outdoor table at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Harrah's in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and he thought he had struck gold when spotting Kobe beef for just $35 (£25) on the menu.

Jeffrey explained: "I had never had real deal Kobe. It was like nothing else you’ll ever have. Melt in your mouth delicious. We also ordered a couple of sides, appetisers, and my girlfriend had chef Ramsay's famous beef wellington for the first time ever."

He concluded: "All in all an amazing meal. And I still couldn't believe Kobe was cheaper than Wagyu. Or so I thought."

He explained what happened once he read the bill: "I had to read the menu again when the bill came, because for 2 people, the bill was over $600.00!! (£450)."

It appears that Jeffrey misread the menu, which lists the Kobe as $35 per ounce. That meant his 12 ounce steak set him back $420 (£310).

Luckily, Jeffrey took it on the chin, confessing: "I wish Chef Ramsay was there to come out and call me a donut for f**king this up lol. I enjoyed the hell out of it. No ragrets baby!

"The steak and the experience were unforgettable, and if I had to make this blunder at any restaurant in the world, I’m glad it was at Chef Ramsay's."

Since Jeffrey doesn't regret spending £310 on it, you have got to think that it was probably one of the best meals he's ever eaten.

He certainly had a better experience than the tourists getting ripped off at a restaurant in Mykonos that has become well-known for its crazy prices over the years, charging a family over €300 (£260) for fish recently.
