The forced closure of Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm restaurant had brutal consequences for the former Top Gear man with them felt immediately as season three of Clarkson's Farm airs on Amazon Prime Video.

The second season of the hit Prime Video documentary showed Jezza opening the restaurant on his 1,000 acre Cotswolds farm that he's been personally running since 2019.

He combined local produce and beef from his own cattle to make bespoke dishes out of the restaurant, which was set up in a once dilapidated lambing barn.

But it was shut down shortly after the second season aired, with West Oxfordshire District Council issuing Clarkson with an enforcement notice.

In the first episode of Clarkson's Farm season three, it shows Jeremy dealing with the aftermath of the enforcement notice.

Sadly for him, it meant a very sad goodbye to one member of the Clarkson's Farm team that everyone had grown to love in season two.

"With the restaurant shut down we could no longer afford to keep all the cows," Jeremy said.

"We could hang on the calves to fatten them up but their mums would have to go."

Speaking to Diddly Squat's farm advisor and agronomist Charlie Ireland, Jeremy said: "We bought 19, they had eight so that's 27. Killed two, 25, we're keeping 12. So 13 are going.

"I'm finding today really quite sad because for the last year I've been opening the windows, open the curtains in the morning, and there are the cows.

"I love that. It just cheers my heart every morning to see them."

When asking if the calves would be upset that evening and night, Jezza's right hand man Kaleb Cooper honestly said Jeremy wouldn't be sleeping that night because they'll be 'calling all night long' for their mums. Just brutal.

Attention then turned to the cow we've all grown to love. Dear old Peppa.

Peppa became a focus of season two after her struggles to get pregnant and provide Jeremy with some calves.

The season ended with her final attempt to become pregnant failing, with Kaleb brutally saying it was 'time to put her through the restaurant'.

Jeremy refused, with her kept as more of a glorified pet.

But on what happens to Peppa now, Jeremy asks Charlie: "Can I just ask, Peppa is going obviously. What do you think will become of her?"

Responding, Charlie said: "I wouldn't ask too many questions about Peppa. Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to."

"Oh, Christ," Jeremy replies.

"All we had left of the departed was some touching phone camera memories," he added as a video of them trampling over flowers is played.

With Jeremy and his partner Lisa Hogan both visibly upset, the cattle were driven away as she asks: "cup of tea?"

A quintessentially British response. See you on the other side, Peppa.
