Fans of Gavin and Stacey are noticing a little-known detail of its beloved finale, a year on from its release.
It was arguably the perfect ending to one of the most beloved British sitcoms ever made, with viewers finally getting some closure five years after the 2019 Christmas special.
That episode ended with Nessa (Ruth Jones) getting on one knee after pouring her heart out to Smithy (James Corden), asking him to marry her.
Many expected the 2024 special to open with their wedding, but this was not the case, with the final ever instalment of Gavin and Stacey instead making us wait until the very end for the pair to get together.

Over 12 million tuned in to the finale, which was aired by the BBC, which even included Neil, the baby (Oscar Hartland), singing at his dad’s first wedding.
But when fans were rewatching last night's re-run of the iconic episode, they noticed something in particular about the stag do scene.
While Smithy was incredibly late for his own belated stag, viewers made note of a certain detail which shows the lengths which those behind the show went to, in order to stay true to the characters.
Many viewers took to TikTok to point out one detail of the football shirts which were sported by the boys at the do.

While all the lads wore West Ham kits, with Bryn (Robert Brydon) even going full kit with shorts and socks, viewers noticed that one of the boys refused to wear the badge featuring its iconic crossed hammers.
Unsurprisingly, it was Gavin (Mathew Horne), a diehard Tottenham Hotspur fan much like the actor who plays him.
The Spurs fan was never going to don the badge of a rival London club, even if it was for his best mate's stag do, instead opting to make modifications to the kit.
While Gavin wore the Hammers' 1999-2001 home kit with the famous Doc Martens sponsorship, he actually replaced their badge with Tottenham's badge, which features a cockerel balancing on a ball.
He was the only one who didn't go all out for West Ham, though he had 'Smithy 16' on the back of his shirt like the rest of the lads, so his mate wasn't too disheartened.

You can't blame Horne too much, though, with the actor previously featuring in a Spurs kit-unveiling video in the past - he isn't just your average footy fan.
Even the biggest die-hard fans missed out on this subtle detail, likely because it wasn't on screen for that long, as one admitted: "It's the details like this that make the show."
Another said: "No way – didn't notice this," with a third adding: "I didn't even spot that."
There are other hidden details and Easter eggs throughout the episode that many missed, too, but all in all, the public reaction has been overwhelmingly positive since the finale aired last Christmas.
