Gino D’Acampo has revealed why he quit Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

The final episode airs tonight with many tuning to see the trio's last escapade.

After fans followed the three foodies around for three seasons, D'Acampo has revealed why he left the much-loved show. Take a look below:

Fans will obviously be devastated by the news, having watched the TV personalities tour Italy, Greece and the USA in past episodes.

The popular ITV series has run since 2018, with the trio getting into some hilarious scraps along the way, which included sampling cannabis-infused food while in San Francisco.

Sadly though, their great getaway has come to an end and D’Acampo announced he’d quit the series earlier this year.

In a heartfelt Instagram video, the TV chef spoke about his departure and gave the reason behind his sudden exit from the show.

Posted on March 19, D’Acampo explained to his 1.7 million fans that he decided to leave the show due to scheduling conflicts.

He also insisted that his exit was not related to his long-running friendship with co-stars Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix.

The 46-year-old said: “I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road Trips. The reason is very simple - nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.”

"It’s just because we can’t get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do."

However, there were also contractual issues which D’Acampo refused to elaborate on in the short clip.

The TV chef said his departure was due to scheduling.

Continuing, the This Morning chef said he’d rather ‘value the friendship’ then enter more negotiations.

“Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated and also because contracts,” he continued.

"Because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract."

He added: "So I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead."

Thankfully, there's still one more episode for fans to enjoy and the trio embark on their final trip around Spain.

You can catch Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip on ITV 1 at 9pm.
