Fans of I’m A Celeb have called for a major shake-up to the show after the announcement of a big rule change for this upcoming season.

I’m A Celebrity is only a few days away, with the series set to debut this Sunday (16 November).

Yesterday the major rule change was announced for the upcoming season, a clear reaction to the treatment one celebrity faced on the 2024 edition of the show.

This rule change will make it so that the same celeb will not be able to be voted to take part in a Bushtucker trial three days in a row.

As confirmed in a statement to LADbible from ITV, the limits are in place to ensure that ‘all campmates [are given] the opportunity to shine in Bushtucker Trials this year'.

Dean McCullough was given six Bushtucker trials in a row last year leading to frustration from fans that it was uninteresting to simply get the same celeb to do it over and over again.

This has motivated some fans to suggest another major change to the show.

The suggestion is actually something which I’m A Celeb did in last year’s edition in a break from tradition, but have not confirmed whether this will apply to this year.

One fan posted to the I’m A Celeb subreddit saying: “Anyone else hoping they won't do the ‘walking out of the top of the skyscraper’ again this year?

“They shook things up last year which was refreshing.”

In the seven years prior to last year the show would start with a ‘walk the plank’ challenge atop a skyscraper, something that was scrapped last year in favour of a race to camp combined with a disgusting drinking challenge.

This saw contestants forced to drink a mixture of ‘blended bull’s penis, fish eyes, and a garnish of vomit fruit’.

Many fans are hoping that this year ITV will again keep it fresh by avoiding another walk the plank challenge, as many fans in the subreddit agreed with the suggestion.

One comment said: “It’s so boring. Making 2 people do it might be OK but seeing it done again and again is dull.

“The best entry to the camp challenges are always the ones where teams or duos have to do tasks on their way in.

“The walking ones on the skyscraper and even the parachute jumps aren’t fun to watch anymore.”

Another said: “Yes it's boring af, the first few days are diabolical.”

A third commented: “I hate the first bit would much rather just dump them straight in the jungle.”

This year’s lineup's biggest names include Alex Scott, Martin Kemp, Aitch, and Angry Ginge.

The 2025 edition of I’m A Celebrity debuts this Sunday, November 16.
