I’m A Celeb’s opening episode has led many viewers raging after a small detail was removed which many consider to be a staple of the show.
ITV’s newest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has been unafraid of ringing in the changes, with producers having brought in new rules around how bush tucker trials will work.
Whilst every small change tends to cause a meltdown amongst viewers on social media, many things about the show have actually changed over the years that fans may have forgotten also used to be an integral part of the show.
This was most obvious from the first episode not opening with contestants jumping off a skyscraper, with producers deciding to continue last year’s change to not go with the now iconic but widely hated way to open the series.
I’m A Celeb’s Tombola bugs were missing and social media went insane
No really, this sent I’m A Celebrity X into a meltdown. The now iconic bugs that would scuttle across the screen at every ad break were missing this time around, leading to a viral reaction online.

One fan tweeted a shocked gif of Cynthia Erivo, saying: “WHERE ARE THE TOMBOLA BUGS???”
Another said: “we don’t even have the f*cking tombola bugs anymore games never been so gone.”
A third tweeted: “first the opening titles change, now there’s no tombola bugs bookending the ad breaks!? WHERE IS THE CULTURE?”
Over on Reddit, fans approached the advert change with similarly manic energy.
One post said: “anyone know why the advert was well a normal advert?? bring my goddam bugs back.”
A popular comment suggested the hashtag #BringBackBugs, whilst another commented saying: “Yess I miss my bug friends :( this just feels...empty.”
New opening credits and no more Kiosk Keith

A number of fans were surprised when the show started about the fact that the ‘iconic’ opening credits had been changed.
The show’s credits have remained the same since 2008 when the last iteration was introduced.
One fan tweeted saying: “#ImACeleb changing the title sequence for no reason when it’s been perfectly fine for years.”
One of the other major changes made over the years was the removal of ‘Kiosk Keith’.
The side character on the show first joined the crew in 2002 as a set builder, but didn’t make it on screen until 2013.
After this, he became a key part of the show.

In 2017, he disappeared midway through the show, with Ant and Dec claiming he was unwell, and news breaking the following year he had been sacked.
A source claimed to The Sun that he had been fired for turning up drunk to work and making an unwanted sexual advance on a colleague.
They said: “It wasn’t unusual for Keith to turn up to work drunk as he’s done it before but this incident has shocked everyone.
“It happened in front of loads of people, the girl was so upset. As soon as she made a complaint Keith was sacked.”
Grant’s ex-wife, Donna, denied he was a sexual predator and revealed he got sacked after ‘just a pat on the a**e’ of his colleague.
