Celebrity Big Brother fans have theory on why rules have been changed this year

Celebrity Big Brother fans have theory on why rules have been changed this year

The return of the reality TV show is billed for Monday, 4 March

Celebrity Big Brother hasn’t even returned to screens yet and fans are already crafting theories about the forthcoming season.

ITV recently revealed that Celebrity Big Brother was being resurrected after a six-year hiatus, with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best at the helm.

Viewers are expecting to witness debauchery and drama over the next few weeks when the 12 celebrity contestants enter the house.

Celebrity Big Brother will air on ITV1 and ITVX on Monday, 4 March at 9pm.

While the cohort of famous faces is yet to be confirmed by the broadcaster, The Sun revealed that the likes of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Strictly Come Dancing’s Nikita Kuzmin are all expected to be announced.

Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts and Heartstopper actor Bradley Riches are also rumoured to be heading into the West London house, alongside presenter Zeze Millz, Coronation Street’s Colson Smith and Broadway star Marisha Wallace.

Reports claim former This Morning presenter Fern Britton is also appearing on Celebrity Big Brother this year, as is Real Housewives of Cheshire’s Lauren Simon, and Kate Middleton's uncle. Gary Goldsmith.

Heading up the alleged pack is celebrity chef and Dragon’s Den star Levi Roots and previous Love Island champion Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

ITV hasn't officially confirmed this leaked line-up for 2024 though, with a spokesperson telling LADbible: "Any names are at this point pure speculation and viewers will have to tune in to see who will be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house."

Ahead of Celebrity Big Brother 2024, bosses have decided to shake up the voting system.

Unlike the civilian version of Big Brother, viewers won’t be calling the hotline to evict their least favourite housemate.

Instead, fans will be voting for who they want to save from the dreaded live eviction.

Following the news, fans have been theorising exactly why showrunners have decided to make the switch.

Taking to social media to air their views, one user of X, formerly known as Twitter wrote: “We can keep the entertainment in.”

A second social media user said: “The producers knew they had to change it to save the show as these icons last year were evicted earlier than they should of. "Now let’s hope they do Vote To Save for future civilian series too.”

Another Instagram user queried whether the rule change was because the chosen celebrities were ‘sensitive’.

They commented: “Hate vote to save…always have always will. It’s not how BB should be, I detest it…are celebs too sensitive to be voted to evict then?”

“They're going the route of Channel 5, obviously. It's vote to evict on BB and vote to save on CBB,” theorised a fourth.

Tune into Celebrity Big Brother from Monday, 4 March at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
