Well, we’re only one week in and as usual, the UK series of Love Island has proved dramatic.
From fake exits and early bombshells, we’ve even had a real departure within days of arriving.
George Knight left the villa on Thursday (4 June), after having booted out another Islander following his arrival. And as this was confirmed by ITV, he took to Instagram to address his decision ‘in order to be with my family’.
His departure was then addressed briefly during last night’s episode of Love Island as the Islanders issued a message to the semi-professional football player.

Lorenzo Alessi was tasked with the job of telling the villa the news as he said: “George has left the villa for private reasons and won’t be coming back.”

And Robyn Langton said for him to hear back home: “Aww, George, we love you.”
The rest of the cast echoed this as they applauded for George.
He’d arrived in the villa as a bombshell alongside Yasmin Hadlow on Tuesday and the pair had sent home Ellie Chadwick and Samraj Toor, in their first 24 hours as part of a 'secret mission' tasked by host Maya Jama.
And during these brief couple of days on the dating show, Knight had tried it on with Langton, asking if she wanted to share a bed with him in the hideaway.
Coupled up with Samuel Workman, she told the Dorking Wanderers footballer that his move was ‘ballsy’, but she needed to think about it, before eventually declining the offer.
She had, however, shared a kiss with him and sweetly sent him some love through the screen.
Knight shared his official Love Island photo as well as a snap with his sister, Emma, and dog back home on Instagram as he confirmed his departure.

“Family comes first, always,” he wrote in the caption.
“Leaving the @loveisland Villa was a decision made in order to be with my family. Out of respect for them, I’d prefer not to go into any further detail.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind messages and support! It genuinely means a lot.”
Emma commented to say: “Love you George.”
Following the initial reports of his exit, ITV said in a statement to LADbible: “For private reasons, George has left the Love Island Villa. We have a duty of care towards George and as such will not be commenting further.”
Since his departure, former Love Island star Harrison Solomon revealed he had messaged Knight to try and get him to join in on a stream.
And he’s claimed that the Islander has since messaged back to say: “Hello mate, appreciate the message big time. Yeah man, I’m down for that. Loads of stuff to talk about [laughing face].”
Solomon has said he’s going to work to Knight ‘on the stream ASAP’.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
