Sky Sports' Martin Brundle made a howler during his latest Formula 1 grid walk before the Singapore Grand Prix.
An ex-driver himself who raced for the likes of McLaren, Équipe Ligier and Benetton, the 66-year-old regularly makes headlines by tapping the great and good of the sporting spectatorship on the shoulder as they wait for the tarmac-ripping action to commence.
Not too long ago, he was forced to cut short an encounter with NFL star Russell Okung, who'd unknowingly broken one of the golden rules in live broadcasting: advertising. In Okung's case, he was keen to mention Bitcoin on camera, which Brundle swiftly moved on from.
This time, though, the commentator was misdirected by members of the production team speaking to him via an earpiece, sending him on the hunt for a major musical star 'wearing a cap'.

When Brundle approached this assumed celebrity, it turned out to be Anthony Capaldi, and not his award-winning brother Lewis Capaldi.
"Lewis, wonderful to see you," he said on his approach, but Anthony was of course keen to correct him.
"I'm sorry," laughed Brundle, before claiming that he was told by somebody that Lewis has 'got a cap on'. Instead, it was Anthony wearing the cap.
"I'm his brother!" said Anthony, just as the 'Someone You Loved' hitmaker entered the frame just behind him.

"Nice to meet you, I'm a big fan," Lewis told the presenter, clearly still amused by the whole exchange.
The Scottish brothers were in attendance to support the McLaren boys Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, who are chasing consecutive Constructors' Championships and the team's first Drivers' World Championship since 2008.
"I'm just a guy who's here, that's all," smiled Anthony, leading Brundle to add: "Well, I'm sorry that I mistook you, but it's lovely to see you on the grid."

Bidding the sporting legend farewell, Lewis offered his hand to Brundle, but the hectic interviewer had already decided he was off by that point and inadvertently blanked the musical star.
"Lewis Capaldi took it well, a Martin Brundle grid walk at his best," read one social media reaction.
Another added: "Not Martin Brundle calling Lewis Capaldi's brother Lewis and then missing Lewis Capaldi's handshake as well."
Lewis himself found the humour in the situation though, shaking his own hand and cackling with his brother in the aftermath.

"That Lewis Capaldi gridwalk interview might have been the best of all time," someone else commented.
