The new Harry Potter has been announced for HBO's upcoming series.
Tens of thousands of children auditioned for the roles of the three key Hogwarts students after an open casting call was announced last year.
And after many big names were previously confirmed for the new TV show, the lead actors have been revealed today (27 May) as three 'screen newcomers'.

Following in Daniel Radcliffe's footsteps and stepping into the coveted role of the 'Boy Who Lived' is Dominic McLaughlin with Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
They join the likes of Nick Frost, John Lithgow and Paul Whitehouse in the Harry Potter series which is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.

With filming expected to start this summer, the series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
Gardiner (showrunner, executive producer) and Mylod (director of multiple episodes, executive producer) said: “After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

HBO said the series 'will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter books'.
Before we do see him as Potter, McLaughlin has a role in the BBC's upcoming action adventure series Gifted. Playing one of his best mates, Stanton previously starred as Matilda in Matilda The Musical on the West End.

The kids join the stellar line-up of the first six cast members HBO confirmed last month, after plenty of speculation and rumours.
Lithgow is playing the Hogwarts headmaster, Dumbledore, something he's 'very excited' about despite it being a 'hard decision'.

Janet McTeer will play Transfiguration Professor Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu will be Severus Snape and Luke Thallon is set to play Quirinus Quirrell.
Whitehouse is set to be the magic-less role of caretaker Argus Filch and Frost stars as groundskeeper Hagrid.
"Thank you for trusting me with such a loyal, gentle and courageous half-giant like Rubeus Hagrid. Robbie, I promise I won’t let you down," he said on Instagram.
