One of the stars of this year’s Celebrity Traitors said she lost ‘eight years of her life’ before making the decision to amputate her leg.
The first famous people-filled version of the UK show kicked off last night (8 October) and plenty of us are already locked in, choosing winners, pointing out mistakes and branding one of the Traitors as the 'worst’.
It’s fair to say the BBC has given us an absolute treat as well, with the line-up consisting of actual ‘celebrities’ from Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie to Niko Omilana, Tom Daley and Cat Burns.

One star that not every viewer seems to know much about, though, is actor Ruth Codd, who plummeted into the public eye when she began posting on TikTok in lockdown.
She then went on to appear as Anya in Netflix’s The Midnight Club.
The 29-year-old is also known for her role as Juno Usher in The Fall of the House of Usher and appears in the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon.
As well as her work as an actor, Codd is a passionate activist and advocate for disability awareness.

During last night’s task, the star made references to only having ‘one leg’ as she took on the brake role for the Trojan Horse.
At the age of 15, the Irish actor injured herself while ‘messing around’ playing football at school, which left her in severe pain for quite some time.
“It never healed correctly so until I was 23, I was on and off crutches, getting loads of operations,” Codd previously explained to the Irish Examiner.
“Because of nerve damage and chronic pain, I chose to get it amputated. It took eight years of my life, constantly going in and out of hospital.”

She said during that time her ‘whole life revolved around’ trying to get her leg to heal.
“For years, I didn’t see it getting any better. I was stuck in a really bad mindset and I was p**sed off at life,” Codd continued.
“When I made the decision to amputate it, things finally started to turn around. It was a relief. I could get on with my life.”
The star went on to joke that the ‘worst part’ about the initial injury was that she didn’t even like football.
Codd added: “At least I could have gone out in blaze of glory doing something that I loved but – no!"
