South Park trolls Trump with brutal new name change after Emmy win

South Park has aimed a trolling dig at the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and it's far from the first time.

Following South Park's Emmy triumph on Sunday, September 6, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have used the win to poke fun at Trump.

The official South Park X account shared on Tuesday that the pair had made a big change to the series in celebration of their victory.

The account posted: "Following their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program, South Park is making a big change. Creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone announce:

“Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA. We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount -- a Skydance Capitulation.”

The dig from South Park comes in the wake of Apple Maps changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America for users in the US following Trump's executive order to change the lakes name amid a spat with neighbours Canada.

Trade talks between the two nations collapsed in August, with both sides issuing tit-for-tat tariffs against one another.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney responded by saying: "We know that the United States is changing.

"their trade relations, their foreign policy, their national monuments, their hydronyms.

"Canadian women and men also know that things must be called by their name, and this lake is called Lake Ontario - today and forever."

Trump had made a habit of demanding name changes of locations and geographical landmarks.

Soon after returning to the White House, he signed a similar order to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

On Monday, Trump posted a map to Truth Social that rebranded the state New Mexico to New America.

The post ended by plugging that the show's 29th season will premiere on Wednesday, September 16.

South Park, the long-running comedy claimed its fifth Emmy win for Best Animated Show on Sunday, September 6, and didn't hesitate on using the victory to mock Trump, telling him he's finally won the award he always wanted.
