A new trailer for The Last of Us season two has cause uproar among some fans of the show, who are all saying that one character in particular is ‘comically miscast’.

The second season matches the second season in bringing in a host of new characters. Check out the trailer here, which introduces several new faces:

Joining Joel and Ellie are the characters of Abby, Dina, Jesse, and several more.

These will be played by Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, and Young Mazino respectively, all of whom are talented up and coming actors.

The brand-spanking-new trailer did not, however, bring criticism of their casting.

Instead, it was fans who feel that while they did a fantastic job in the first season, leading star Bella Ramsey is a miscast for season two.

One tweet said: "It’s crazy how Bella Ramsey was like the best part of season 1 of the show and now looks almost comically miscast here because they were too desperate to wait a few years to make this."

The second season will see a time jump between seasons, with the second game taking place five years after the first.

While it has not been confirmed if the show will follow this, the time jump is an essential part of the game so whether it’s five years or four, Ellie will be far older in season two.

In the game Ellie is supposed to be 19, two years younger than Bella Ramsey actually is. Despite this though, fans believe that they look too young for the part.

Another fan tweeted: "I still can’t believe bella ramsey is ellie, that was the most unserious casting decision ever."

Others, however, were more optimistic about their role in season two.

One commented on reddit about the debate saying: "Why are people obsessed with her looks v the game, and not that they cast a guy from Chile to play Joel? I think they did the right thing, cast the best actors, not lookalikes."

Another said: "Apparently it's controversial but I love the games and I really enjoyed Bella's acting / interpretation of Ellie. I see it as game Ellie and tv show Ellie. It doesn't have to be the exact same thing. I find it refreshing and more exciting as I already know game Ellie."

In addition to this, fans were incredibly hopeful about the casting of Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.

One comment on the trailer said: "Abby looks so spot on," as another said: "I have a feeling Kaitlyn Dever is gonna make a great Abby."

And one fan responded to this saying: "Honestly my favorite casting so far after hearing that tiny bit of dialogue. She looks f*cking spot on too."

The trailer also revealed that the hotly anticipated second season would be releasing in April of this year.

Pedro Pascal, Diego Luna, and Rutina Wilson are all also returning from the first season.
