The Traitors star makes ‘big slip up’ in front of everyone during challenge

The Traitors are in control right now

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the latest episode of The Traitors.

Fans of The Traitors reckon that Rachel might have made a significant blunder during last night's episode of the BBC hit show.

After the success of the first-ever celebrity version of the show, which hilariously saw Alan Carr triumph as the sole traitor, the public version returned at the start of 2026 and has once again become the talk of every UK office.

While the celeb series was entertaining, it was often very polite, whereas there have already been many fallouts in the Scottish castle in the current series, with Fiona and Rachel's head-to-head at the round table likely to go down in TV history.

We've had hidden relationships galore and serious drama thanks to new introductions in the game, which saw Fiona introduced as a secret traitor before Rachel and Stephen were accosted by Matthew and Harriet within a confessional box.

Despite Harriet going out in a blaze of glory earlier this week, Rachel in particular managed to avoid any suspicion at the round table once again last night, as Ellie became the latest player to be banished and we reached the final eight contestants.

However, keen-eyed fans think that Rachel might just have slipped up during the challenge and accidentally revealed that she was a traitor, so we may well see her come under some heat before next week's final.

The challenge saw Claudia gather the contestants in a field and seat them in boxes, where they would have to answer questions and hope their answers matched those of the Traitors, with Stephen and Rachel secretly emerging to give their answers.

One particular question might just have tripped Rachel up, as after she said that Matthew was the most valuable player to the traitors, Claudia didn't do her any favours and asked for an explanation.

She said: "I think it's the confessional box, it might have helped them more than it helped us."

Now, as viewers, we know that Matthew asked to be a traitor at his confessional box meeting, but he hasn't revealed that to the rest of the traitors.

Stephen and Rachel have made it fairly clear they won't recruit him, but also fear that he might reveal a bit more to the Faithfuls when he doesn't get an invite.

When saying 'us', Rachel was probably meaning the Faithfuls, but some people think it was a 'big slip up' that might just be cottoned on to.

One social media user wrote: "That felt like a HUGE mistake for Rachel to mention Matthew’s confessional box."

Another said: "Did they say they meeting with the traitors was at a confessional or did Rachel just give something away there," while a third commented: "This felt like such a big slip up."

However, Rachel did also win the chance to ask questions in the confessional box and somehow managed to convince the faithful that the traitors' answer or 'murder and lie' to what their plans were was genuine and not made up on the spot.

So she would have known about the confessional box anyway, but it might just be enough to convince faithfuls that she's one to look at before next Friday's finale.

Given the clues that they've ignored so far, it's difficult not to back the traitors to win at this point.
