The Traitors may be a weird and wonderful show, but one of the weirdest aspects of it is the various cutaway scenes they film when contestants who are up for murder are being discussed.
This latest season has served up some particularly strange ones, including trying to play the guitar with one hand while holding a shield in another, Matthew doing a headstand in his room, or the same bloke being filmed having a shower.
More accurately, he was seen scrubbing soap on himself while standing next to the shower, and he's not the first they've had doing that as season three's Freddie and Celebrity Traitors star Tom Daley have also been filmed showering as well.
As a huge fan of The Traitors, it really is quite strange to have the camera filming someone while they're in the middle of a wash.

From a TV perspective, it's understandable to show the audience who is being talked about, but one wonders how they get these cutaways filmed and at what part in the production of the show they tell contestants 'alright, you pop in the shower and we'll set the camera up'.
Matthew has shared the footage of himself and his fellow contestants who've been doing shower scenes as he joked it was 'proof the standards are slipping'.
Freddie welcomed him to 'the holy trio' while Olympic diver Daley said it was 'literally the most awkward thing to film' to which Freddie said 'tell them again'.
We can only imagine given they signed up to play a game where they go to a fancy house and murder each other but also have to do a bit where they get a tasteful shower scene.

At some point, there has been a meeting where the people who make The Traitors decided they needed cutaways so the audience could keep track of who was up for being murdered, and that some of those cutaways should be muscular blokes in the shower.
It's seemingly tough on the toiletries budget as well since Matthew said he 'went through a whole bottle of Radox' getting the shot of him scrubbing his torso with shower gel.
As for what's going on in the game, Matthew might have run out of Radox but it also looks like he's running out of time to get recruited onto team Traitor.
He made them an offer that they'd murder everyone's favourite Faithful, Jessie, and then asked him to join them, but while they've finally got round to bumping off Jessie, there's not a lot of time left for a recruitment.

It's currently two Traitors versus six Faithfuls as we head into the final week of episodes and unless one of them is caught quickly, recruitment may not be on the cards.
Traitors Rachel and Stephen have passed up two opportunities to recruit and if they can go into the finale with three Traitors, it might just hand them the numbers they need for victory.
We'll have to wait and see next week.
The Traitors continues next Wednesday (21 January) at 8pm on BBC One.
