Rather than screen the actual words coming out of the speaker's mouth, a transcript of an apparent soap opera argument appeared below the close-up shots of Donald Trump and Barack Obama instead.
Twitter user @Kaytality uploaded personal footage of the gaffe, captioned: "BBC News have the wrong subtitles on and it's pretty glorious."

"Just tell him to get out of my face. So it was him in your room," is what was being said to the land of the free, followed by "Just shut it, yeah? Oi! Leave him alone!"
So far as speeches during inaugurations go, it's a strange approach.
The BBC has said in a statement: "We have not found any evidence or had other feedback from viewers that our main output covering the inauguration was subtitled incorrectly."
