A new video shows a dad pranking his son into thinking the machines are taking over by using the Summon feature on his Tesla.
The Summon feature, which puts the electric car into auto-mode, is not known by some. Not least this unworldly pre-tween.
In the short clip, he sits relatively calm in the Tesla, possibly texting his friends "ugh, parents are lame!" when the car becomes active on its own.

It's only then he's thrust into a world without parental assistance. Faced with the inevitable independence of adulthood, or worse - robots taking over altogether.
The whole thing is captured on a hidden GoPro.
Thankfully, the dad brings the horror to a halt and even joshes with his son when opening the car door. The son, relieved beyond compare, says "you suck" and goes back to watching fail compilations on his phone, having potentially just become a part of one himself. It's all pretty meta.

Though admittedly only a temporary freak-out, who's to say this isn't a glimpse of the future, with robot servants, cyber relationships and even thinner iPhones?
Or a future where people just aren't aware of electric cars. Either or, really.
