I'm lucky that my mother doesn't know how to use a mobile phone so I don't ever text her anything. If I did I'd always run the risk of accidentally texting her something stupid.
That doesn't mean I've never said something stupid on the phone, though.
I once had an argument over an article with someone in a previous job and had to ring him up. It was the first day I'd ever owned an iPhone - I didn't know how to use it properly.
I got his answerphone, thought I'd finished the conversation (didn't press the red hang up button properly) and said 'Stupid fucking bellend prick'. I remember the words vividly. Then I remember looking down at my phone and noticing that I hadn't hung up. Panic.
Next day he rang me back and put me on the spot over it, like you probably would. I said I'd dropped the camera in my other hand when I was making the call, and was calling myself a 'stupid fucking bellend prick', because that's what you do.
If he believed that, he's a fool.
Anyway, Texan Jeet Patel had a bit of a fail when his lovely mum (we assume) asked where he is (standard mum question). Jeet showed little chill.
This led to some pretty funny comments on the Internet.
Which also led to people sharing their hoe stories with him.
