Not To Be Outdone, Now ITV Has Its Turn At A TV Blooper

Not To Be Outdone, Now ITV Has Its Turn At A TV Blooper

Having a good look.

It would seem this week we have been treated to blooper heaven.

By now, I can only assume you've been living under a rock if you've not seen the BBC reporter being outdone by his children.

Now ITV has had its go at beating it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, after a chat with Lord Hessaltine I give you Peston on Sunday.

It's the channel's flagship political discussion programme - incidentally filmed in the same studio that belongs to Loose Women and Lorraine.

To give it that more 'homely' feel, it's filmed on the ground floor enabling (usually) unknowing strangers to walk past.

However, it must be said, if you film your show on the ground floor with members of the public walking past, you are asking for trouble.

The beauty of the BBC report is that we weren't expecting it - he was in his office, away from prying eyes.

Presenter Robert Peston was giving us his teaser as to what's coming up on the show next - satirical heavyweight Ian Hislop (the editor of Private Eye and from Have I Got News For You).

"So don't go away because coming after the break we've got Ian Hislop," Peston said in attempt to keep us rooted to our sofas.

The real reason we all stayed was because of the gentlemen who pressed his nose up against the glass.

If 2016 was the year of the celebrity death, 2017 may well be one of comedy.

Already this year we've had the two aforementioned comedy errors, and, back in January, BBC Breakfast introduced the wrong guest entirely.

They built us to expect an interview with Leslie Binns, a former soldier who was about to go up Mount Everest for a second time after aborting his first attempt to save a fellow mountaineer.

Instead we were presented with Dr Todd Landman. An academic, magician and public speaker.

Keep doing you, TV.
