Hardly a day goes by without a new relationship or dating trend emerging on the internet and if you ask me the latest one is the best yet.
We've heard all about the overtly sexual trends happening on the internet, whether it's hotwifing or swinging, and frankly this new one is a refreshing change from finding out far too much about what people get up to in between the sheets.
One new dating trend is essentially seeing people pay for sex, while submarining is the new ghosting but way worse, and frankly, the whole courting scene seems like a bit of a minefield right now.
Step forward an icon of our youth, a man who inspired Barack Obama's most famous catchphrase and has performed alongside Elton John. Yes, it's Bob the Builder.

Naturally, you might be worried that I'm about to ruin your childhood by telling you that people are engaging in relations cosplaying as Bob and Wendy, or perhaps it's the name of a fancy new sex position?
Fear not, the Bob the Builder dating trend is something far more innocent and far funnier.
Essentially, women on dating apps - and perhaps some men too - are seeking help with building some new furniture or perhaps need some assistance fixing that leak, without wanting to spend hundreds just to get a professional to come and take a look.
Hinge dates are now living up to their name by fixing door hinges, while those on plenty of fish are being given plenty of tasks before earning themselves a second date.

You can see why it might be a good idea and in the long term, it saves you moving in with someone who can't do basic DIY tasks.

One woman living in New York explained to the NYP how she casually mentioned to a finance bro that something in her room needing fixing, and it turns out that wasn't just an excuse to get him up to her room.
She explained: “I remember telling one of my Hinge matches about this and how I wanted plants to brighten up my room, and he said, ‘Well, I think we have to do that for our first date — I’ll buy you all the plants you need to fill your room.'"
Another guy offered to hang her frames, no that's not an innuendo, and ended up buying nails and a large lamp to help brighten up the room. Good to see people taking hook-ups very literally.

She explained: “I thought it was funny how I brought this guy into my bedroom, and his first thought was to start fixing things and telling me what I needed to fix in my room."
So, there you have it ladies and gentleman, if you want to meet your future long-term partner and you want them to be good at DIY, this is the way to do it. It might be risky showing a first date where you live, but if they come up to fix a few things and you never see them again, it really is a great cost-saving method.
