A woman who was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) has revealed eight questions we should all be asking ourselves to determine if we might be a sociopath.
True crime documentaries have exposed us to plenty of sociopaths over the years but if you're not familiar, then you should know that likely candidates will include people who show a profound lack of empathy, an undeveloped conscience and also an inability to feel guilt or remorse for harming others.
So, it's easy to see how someone with a lack of empathy, guilt and conscience might become a killer, although diagnosed sociopath Kanika Batra has already explained the differences, and similarities, between herself and Ted Bundy.
She said: "He had the motive to do it. That was the only thing that really gave him joy, whereas I can get joy out of other domains, even if it means, like, turning down my sadism, I can still get joy from other things that I do, which I think the ones who are very violent and it's tied to their sexuality, it's kind of like they go to a certain level and they just can't come back.”

After pointing out some of the personality traits that might suggest you or your friend could be a sociopath, the content creator is now back with a handy quiz which could give you some clues about another person's true personality, as we cannot always know everything about the person we're friends, family or partners with.

In her TikTok video, she said: "Here's a quiz to see how many sociopathic traits that you have and if you probably should consult a psychiatrist.
"I have one of the largest databases of people with anti-social personality on social media.
"Do you think only in the short term, is it impossible for you to see the bigger picture?
"Do you make decisions based on what's right in front of you or what could or should be in front of you?
"When people talk about and have empathic reactions, do you feel like an outsider just looking in?"
After pointing out those first three characteristics, she explained that there can be crossover with other mental health conditions.
She added: "Can you feel empathy for yourself?
"Do you date or sleep around?
"And do you have an addictive personality?
And lastly, do you have an intense boredom that cannot be filled with anything?"
Well, I can certainly think of a few folks who might qualify for those final few, but I wouldn't quite classify them as a sociopath just yet.
Cheating certainly requires a lack of empathy and Kanika reckons that could be a key sign, especially for young people who 'regularly lie, steal, cheat and break rules', or just generally refuse to abide by society's rules.
It's always good to question ourselves and learn more about health conditions which aren't commonly talked about, even if someone openly admits to having no empathy for others.
