Elon Musk hits out at DINK couples and says their lifestyle is an ‘awful morality’

Elon Musk hits out at DINK couples and says their lifestyle is an ‘awful morality’

The Twitter boss has decided to throw his opinion into the DINK debate

Elon Musk has weighed in on the whole DINK thing after people are starting to learn more about the lifestyle of some couples.

A number of videos from DINK couples (dual income, no kids) have been going viral on social media in recent days and as the owner of one of those social media sites Musk would likely be aware of this.

When he's not making an absolute horrorshow of a car or making Twitter, sorry, X, even worse with all of his changes, Musk is offering his opinion on the trending topic of the day.

Since people are talking about the DINK life, that's what he's weighed in on and it's safe to say he's not a fan of couples not having kids.

Responding to a video of a DINK couple explaining why they were living that lifestyle, Musk gave his verdict on it and denounced couples who didn't have children as having an 'awful morality'.

"There is an awful morality to those who deliberately have no kids: they are effectively demanding that other people's kids take care of them in their old age," he wrote before describing it as 'messed up'.

Musk's take on the DINKs was controversial to say the least, as plenty disagreed with his denouncement of their lifestyle.

One person pointed out that getting someone to take care of you when you were older was 'not the reason people should be having kids', while another told Musk he was 'very mixed up on this' and some people would need 'professional caretakers' and not their own children to do the job.

ELON MUSK'S INTERVIEW QUESTION

A third argued that they were 'paying for other people's kids through our taxes', and a fourth said 'most elder care is done by non-family'.

Someone who said they worked in healthcare tried explaining to Musk that the kind of care people need in old age 'isn't something they can get from their family many times'.

Musk has long been a supporter of having lots of children, at present he has 11 children by three different mothers.

The Tesla boss has argued against the idea that having fewer children will be beneficial for the environment, saying it is 'going to be fine even if we doubled the [amount] of the humans'.

He said we 'can't have civilisation just dwindle into nothing', and told potential modern parents who might be concerned about bringing a baby into the world to look at history as things were 'way worse back then'.

Last year one of Musk's daughters cut all ties with him, legally changing her name to disassociate herself from him.

By the way, did you know that the Dinkleberg family from Fairly Odd Parents get their name from being a DINK couple?
