If you've opened up a bottle of Baileys or two this morning, there's a warning you need to be aware of.
Many of us in the UK love a festive tipple, and there's a reason it's one of the most popular drinks over the Christmas period.
It's commonly added to coffee or hot chocolate to unwind in the evening, or drunk neat on the rocks.
Let's be honest, it's rare for a bottle to last a week after Christmas, but in case you're not keen or just not a big booze fan, there's something to be aware of when cracking open the next drink.

If you're lucky enough to receive more bottles than you know what to do with and no one to regift them to, you might be wondering how to get rid of them.

Whatever you do, don't pour them down the sink, or you could face paying a major festive callout fee for a plumber.
We all know the warnings about not pouring fat down the drain, but it applies to Baileys, too. Once Dry January rolls around, many people want to rid their cupboards and fridges of alcohol.
If you want to keep it longer, it is apparently good for two years from the date of bottling, whether opened or unopened, according to Baileys' official website.
Depending on the flavour, shelf life may vary, with some ranging from 18 to 24 months.
It seems a middle ground is best: if it's still unopened (excellent Christmas willpower there!), then it's OK for two years, but if you've opened it, you should drink it within the recommended six months.
It contains dairy cream, and no one wants to drink it once it's gone off.

According to tradesmen from MyBuilder.com, tipping the unwanted booze down the sink can cause major problems for your drains.
It can even block your pipes, thanks to all of the fat content.
Fat, oil, and grease should be avoided in drains, and you can prevent a costly call-out charge to have it fixed.
The best method appears to be to pour the unwanted Baileys into a different container and discard it, while throwing the glass bottle into the recycling bin.
Or, we know it's often frowned upon, but if you DO want to regift an unopened bottle to somebody next year, that's perfectly fine too.
