The challenge that seems to stump almost all of us after a cheeky takeaway has been given a potential solution.

We've all seen the deals on pizzas available on the likes of Deliveroo when we feel too lazy to whip something up in the kitchen, and how they tempt us, eventually succeeding.

But the Italian wheat-based dish is notorious for leaving us with leftovers for the next day, and many enjoy it as a make-shift lunch for this reason.

But the question here is, how do you reheat your leftover pizza the following day - if at all?

Cold pizza is the popular choice for many, but what if you want to recreate the same fresh texture that you got the day before?

Microwaving it can make it too soft and chewy, while an oven can result in creating a large, unexpected, Italian biscuit.

Our worries may be over though, as this foodie has revealed a method where you can achieve that 'gooey top and crispy bottom' combination that you've been yearning for, changing the leftover game for good.

Chef and content creator Dom Melier has introduced his method of reheating the pizza that he says is the 'only way' to get the slices just right for that delicious next-day lunch.

He shared his revolutionary technique with his followers on TikTok, which left people arguing over the method in the comments section.

During the viral video, Dom begins to explain: "Microwave is bad because it's going to make the pizza chewy, the oven's bad because everything's going to be kind of too crispy. You want the gooey top and the crispy bottom still."

When the pan gets hot, the chef says to put a slice in without any oil or butter and let it sit for about 30 seconds to a minute, before adding a small amount water into the side of the pan.

After pouring it out of a small container in the clip, he instructs: "Pour it on the side. Then you're going to put the top [lid of the pan] on and you're going to let this all steam up."

After this, you'll want to leave the pizza to cook for another three to four minutes, which is where the magic happens - the cheese will once again become a gooey, soft delight.

Coming out of the pan, it looks like the slice has been served straight out of the oven, but Dom acknowledges that it is 'not as fast' as the microwave.

"Definitely faster than the oven, but this is actually the best way to reheat pizza," he claimed.

"Or, you can just eat it cold, because that's good too - I love cold pizza!"

Viewers in the comments were divided as they were passionate about their own reheat methods.

One said: "Oven is the only way to reheat pizza. Mans [sic] said it'll be too crispy as if that's a bad thing."

Another put: "The saddest pizza I've ever seen," with a crying emoji.

While a third commented: "No... oven all the way. Crispy bottom, soft top. Perfect."

And fourth pointed out: "Air fryer works pretty good too."
