There could be good news in store for people who have been shocked by the bizarre creation of ‘Guinness 60/40’.
Now look, having plenty of alcohol-free drink options is great. There’s plenty of reasons as to just why the booze-free beers should exist and a fair few of them aren’t all that bad.
And Guinness 0.0 is, of course, one of them. It’s undeniable that plenty of us across the UK and Ireland love a pint of the dark stuff, so having the zero-alcohol version means even more people can get in on it.
But you’d think two options is enough, right? Alcohol or alcohol-free and we’re done there. Yet a pub over in the homeland of Dublin decided to offer up a third choice; the viral ‘Guinness 60/40’.

What is ‘Guinness 60/40’?
The Palmerstown House Pub, on Old Lucan Road in the Irish capital, went viral when it announced its new Guinness creation.
As you might have guessed, the pint concoction is made up of 60 percent Guinness 0.0 and 40 percent regular Guinness (4.2).
Still made with the essential two-stage pour, the pub wrote: “Try our new '60/40' in the Palmerstown House. All of the Guinness character, just a little lighter!

"Great for when you're in the mood for a pint but with a little less alcohol! Just ask for a '60/40.'”
And it absolutely divided punters as some called it a ‘load of nonsense’ and truly reckon it ‘should be illegal’. Although, some who are already fans said they were glad to see the pub ‘making it an actual thing’.
While another wrote: “People crying about people wanting to drink a bit less alcohol or maybe have a couple and still be able to drive. Nobody is forcing it on you. Drink what you like, just relax and let others drink what they want too.”
LADbible contacted Palmerstown House for comment.
Good news for some, or is it?
Now, you’ve got to admit, the ‘60/40’ could be a great option for many as the drinking tends to get heavier in the lead up to silly season.

But it’s looking like the 60 part may not necessarily be available – even just as a regular Guinness 0.0.
It’s said the UK are facing a shortage of the alcohol-free option as workers have voted to go on strike in a dispute over pay.
Britain’s unite union said today (28 November) that some workers at Diageo’s Belfast packing site have rejected a pay offer and will be heading on a eight-day strike in November.
The union claimed the ‘UK is facing a Guinness zero drought this Christmas’ as Unite regional officer Michael Keenan said: “Diageo’s Belfast site is the world’s biggest producer of Guinness Zero and this strike action will severely disrupt production lines in the run-up to Christmas. "Management needs to stop disrespecting our members and return to the negotiating table with an offer that meets workers’ pay expectations.”
However, Diageo have rejected this as it says it expects no disruption to Guinness or Guinness 0.0 supplies over the festive season.

Well, I’ll guess we’ll have to see how many pints the Brits and Irish end up drinking dry – 60/40 or not. And whether or not the union’s claims come true.
