A man who tried eating only red meat for 60 days revealed quite the transformation once he was done with it.
Former athlete turned YouTuber Jake Moscato decided he wanted to become healthier and figured that chowing down on pretty much nothing besides red meat for a couple of months was the way to go.
Some people swear by it and claim it's provided them with all sorts of benefits, but most medical professionals would disagree and warn you away from trying something like this.
Awarding himself a big cheat day before he started, Jake went into things very confident that he'd enjoy himself here as he declared on the first night that it felt 'very easy' before saying he was 'feeling chest pain', had a 'panic attack' and reckoned a toll was being taken on his mental health in the first week.
This is what he looked like when he started (YouTube/Jake Moscato) By his second week he was 'so sick of this' and not feeling well, and he also admitted he 'kept cheating on the diet' before getting back on track.
After a fairly miserable first month, Jake said he was 'starting to feel pretty good' and reckoned his body and mind had begun to 'feel amazing'.
Speaking on his food challenge, the YouTuber said: "I figured something that I could do to get back on track is keep the diet, 95, 97 [percent] red and do a little bit of fruit.
"Do a little bit of eggs, you know, a little bit of pork here and there, right? It's not going to kill you."
In many cases, the 'carnivore diet' involves more than just meat as there are animal products thrown in the mix, and Jake was making sure he did plenty of exercise as well.
Medical experts have warned against diets like this (Getty Stock Image) By the end of it he showed off a leaner and more muscular body, saying: "As far as muscle mass, we are up, I think, six pounds of muscle gain.
"Two pounds on this arm, two pounds of this arm, two pounds on my chest. Body fat from 16 to 14.6 percent. Body weight, 208 pounds to 202 pounds, and I got pretty shredded.”
Jake added: "All my results were good, like testosterone even went up, it went from 748 to 800, insulin super low, iron, double iron, definitely double higher than that. I mean, everything [is] bringing up healthy."
He also seemed to shed a lot of body hair.
You can probably guess that doctors are not massively on board with this sort of diet plan as medical experts warn that diets like this run the risk of boosting your chances of a heart attack or stroke.
A diet like this is missing out on a lot of the nutrients your body needs which can result in a person developing high cholesterol, which leads to all sorts of health problems down the road.
Going for a high protein, low carb diet may help you lose weight in the short term, according to health experts. Meanwhile, the British Heart Foundation warns there isn't consistent scientific evidence to prove a carnivore diet is effective in the long run.
It pointed out that the weight loss may be more due to what you're not eating in such a diet rather than the food you are chowing down on, and the NHS recommends you get a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables rather than just eating red meat.
Research into eating red meat also found that it's not good for your brain health, and that replacing it in your diet with something healthier was linked with a lower risk of dementia in later life.
