McDonald's is releasing a limited-edition menu with a never-seen-before item for its 50th birthday later this month.

Yep, five whole decades of Maccies in the UK - and as fans of the fast food chain know, any excuse and it will treat us to a special launch of new items.

After ‘The Hat Trick’ burger dropped for the Euros, McDonald’s is bringing us a birthday treat with its new item alongside two brand-new desserts and the return of three fan favourite burgers.

International football, a genny lec, Wimbledon and now new scran? What a month July is looking to be.

So, to celebrate 50 years in the UK, Maccies is dropping its ‘star of the show’ - the Birthday Cake Donut.

The sweet treat is a classic ring doughnut shape but with an oozy strawberry flavoured filling.

Making it something people will no doubt casually show off on Instagram stories, it's also topped with a buttercream-flavoured icing and colourful sprinkles.

Priced at £1.99, McDonald’s will donate 20p from every Birthday Cake Donut sold to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK.

And if doughnuts aren’t quite your thing, the new menu will also feature two brand-new McFlurry flavours, both priced at £2.19 or £1.59 for a Mini.

First there’s a Milkybar® Raspberry Ripple McFlurry®, with the classic ice cream swirled with mini chocolate drops of Milkybar and topped off with a raspberry sauce.

McDonald’s are also dropping a Munchies® Cookie Dough McFluury® with chocolate-coated Munchies biscuit pieces in the mix with a caramel cookie dough sauce on the top.

Mmm, sounds good right?

Ok, ok, I’ll get to those three ‘fan favourite burgers’ that are finally making a return to Maccies.

It’s the return of the Mac, the big Big Mac. Yep, the Double Big Mac® and Double Big Mac® with Bacon are both rejoining the menu with their four 100 percent beef patties.

They’re priced at £5.39 and £6.19 or as meals for £7.19 and £8.09.

And making its first re-appearance at McDonald’s since October 2023, the McCrispy® BBQ Smokehouse is also returning.

Made up of a crispy coated 100 percent chicken breast fillet, smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, red onion and lettuce, that’s priced at £5.59 or £7.49 as a meal.

Oh, and Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers are making a grand debut on the birthday menu.

Also available in a Sharebox for £6.49, you can get four mozzarella dippers flavoured with garlic and chives in a ciabatta-style breadcrumb coating with rich tomato dip for £2.39.

The special McDonald’s birthday menu arrives at UK restaurants from 17 July.
