McDonald’s bringing back 'best ever' burger so good customers petitioned for its return

And it's not the only thing returning to the menu

No matter what bigger problems we have to deal with in our lives, the loss of our favourite things always hits hard.

From Caramac bars to the iconic Galaxy Truffle, discontinued products almost feel like a loss in the family - I mean, don’t even talk to me about Café Patron.

And the same goes for McDonald’s menu items as let’s be honest, many of us end up heartbroken when that banging burger disappears from restaurants.

But fans are about to be buzzing as the fast food giant is bringing back a ‘best ever’ burger that’s so good customers petitioned for its return.

When the item was taken away at the end of last year, fans were begging Maccies on social media to keep it as a permanent option. You know, because this is serious stuff to some people.

So, after a whole lot of mourning, moaning and missing, the Philly Cheese Stack is set to come back to McDonald’s UK very soon.

Oh, and this also means the Monopoly game is making its return - yep, it’s the time of year people suddenly get obsessed with collecting the little stickers on their food and drink.

The legendary game returns to the UK from 4 September, with the burger billed by fans as ‘the best burger McDonald’s has ever made’ part of the line-up.

Featuring those sought after stickers, the Philly Cheese Stack features two beef patties, grilled and crispy onions, cheese sauce, two cheddar cheese slices and pickles all sandwiched in a toasted bun.

The iconic menu item first launched at Maccies back in October 2023, but swiftly left restaurants at the end of November as some fans went as far to say it had ‘ruined’ Christmas.

One user went as far to write on X: “Heartbreak is the worst. As well as the feelings of loss and mourning, there's also that incredulity and injustice. Why can't it last forever? Why won't they always be there? I know McDonald's will probably bring The Philly Cheese Stack back next year, but it still hurts.”

Others praised it as ‘the nicest fast food burger they’ve ever tasted’ as many begged for it to be made permanent.

With plenty calling it the ‘best burger’, someone even launched a petition on change.org under the name ‘Naomi Campbell’ as they said they were ‘devastated’ to lose it.

More than 100 people signed it as they asked for the Philly Cheese Stack to become permanent.

And while that doesn’t seem to be happening, at least it’s coming back in September, joined by the return of the Chicken Big Mac, again.
