Nestlé fans have been urged to stock up on a popular chocolate bar amid news that it will be discontinued this summer.

The British confectionary brand has announced that the KitKat Vegan will soon no longer be available to purchase due to a drop in global demand - and the announcement has left fans rushing to stock up on the dairy-free snack on Amazon.

First launched back in 2021, KitKat was one of the first major chocolatiers to launch a plant-based alternative and it was met with widespread enthusiasm.

Famed for hits including Milkybar, Aero, Yorkie, and Smarties, Nestlé is behind a huge range of classics found in most kitchen cupboards across the nation. But over the years, global demand for the vegan KitKat has sadly reduced over time.

Following the announcement, a spokesperson for Nestlé said, “Unfortunately, global demand has been reducing to the point that production was making manufacturing more and more complex and we have now made the difficult decision to discontinue the product.”

“We know there will be some disappointment, however it will still be available in the UK and Ireland until the summer.”

Understandably, the news hasn’t gone down well with vegans and those allergic to dairy, as one fan says it’s a sign we’re ‘going backwards’. On X, formerly Twitter, one customer wrote: “Nah, the vegan KitKat is being discontinued?! Why are we going backwards?”

Over on Facebook, people aren’t too happy either. One dramatically wrote, “Worst day of my life.”

Meanwhile, another customer is concerned about where to find dairy-free alternatives now, as they wrote: “No, you are just cruel! It’s one of the only nice-tasting vegan chocolate products that my daughter can eat without an allergic reaction. We’ve been paying over-inflated prices for a long while and now you’re taking that little bit of pleasure away from her and so many thousands of others.”

A third said: “I really like these, and at £1, they’re good value compared to most other vegan chocolates. It’s time to stock up…”

Where to stock up on KitKat Vegan in the UK before it’s discontinued

Don’t panic. There’s still time to get your hands on the vegan alternative before it disappears from shelves. At the time of writing this, you can purchase a six-pack of KitKat Vegan on Amazon for £14.99 - but it's worth mentioning, there's only a small number left in stock.

Diehard fans can also get their hands on a huge box of 24 bars for £33.99. Catch you at the checkout?
