No one wants manky fruit. If we’ve got a spread of fresh apples in front of us, obviously we’re going to choose the best-looking ones.
I mean, who’s grabbing for a bruised one as their first choice?
Just like no one wants a spotty banana.
And turns out if you do accidentally pick up the fruit and find small white spots, you definitely shouldn’t be eating it.

One shopper who found them on their bunch of bananas was issued an alarming warning.
They shared a snap of the white-spotted fruit to a Facebook group, asking for advice on what the little dots might be.
And answers quickly flooded in, with them not exactly being very hopeful for if the shopper was planning to have a real scran on the fruit.
Unsurprisingly, the theories explaining the spots are pretty gross. So, if you’ve got a banana looking like this in your fruit bowl right now, prepare yourself.

One user simply responded: “Definitely a spider in there.”
As another added: “That looks like a spiders egg sack. Put in a bag and tie it. I would take it back.”
While a third echoed: “This happened to me last year, bought some bananas and got a free spider’s nest with wee tiny spiders coming out of it.”
After getting this alarming warning from others, the shopper came back later with an update: “I can confirm said banana, well the bunch of them (put me off for life) are in the bin outside!
"I may pour boiling water over them in case they hatch inside the bin and wonder into the house because I do NOT do spiders at the best of times! Let alone venomous ones!"

The scarred, banana-less, user added: "May even burn my bin if I’m honest might be the best option (I am of course joking)."
As bananas are typically grown outdoors, it’s a possibility little bugs and creatures might make their way into them for their own bit of snacking.
It’s just not exactly ideal that they sometimes manage to make their way onto the supermarket shelves too.
But the general rule goes, if you see the white spots on bananas, just pick some other ones, unless you want a rather nasty surprise.
