Despite not yet being legally approved, Retatrutide is already considered as one of the strongest weight loss drugs in the market.

After some phenomenal results in the trials, which saw the drug dubbed as the 'Godzilla' of weight loss drugs, it seems as if many couldn't wait for its official release before getting their hands on it.

Although the replicated versions that are available are often unregulated and unsafe, that hasn't stopped thousands from using it and speaking about their results online.

While doctors are urging many to consider the life-threatening risks that come with the experimental medication, bodybuilder Jacob Hiers has seemingly had a very positive experience with Retatrutide so far.

Speaking on his YouTube shorts, the American creator said: "I've been using it for the last couple of months as part of my prep for my cut for my show. I will say it works freaking wonders. That's just my personal opinion.

"It's definitely very strong stuff. My biggest thing is I would just start with small doses. You know, I started off small and we never had to change it at all. We never had to bump it up. I'm doing 3mg a week, split into two doses, which is 1.5 on Tuesdays and Fridays."

He went on to suggest that indigestion is the worst side effect he's suffered so far, suggesting that it's something which he usually never has.

The bodybuilder added: "Sometimes you get a little bit of nausea and I'll notice that when it's time to eat, I'm not ever thinking about food, so it does eliminate your thought of food and it eliminates cravings, which is very helpful."

Although some people on weight loss drugs struggle to eat anything at all, this is no such problem for Jacob, as he reckons that people who do struggle with that could simply be taking too high a dose.

He concluded: "It utilises the carbs that are in your body a lot better. It works for me but there's a lot more information out there about it. Do your own research, I'm definitely not a doctor, so don't listen to me before you take it."

And he's certainly not wrong there, since Retatrutide is still officially in the clinical trial stage, meaning that you should only be taking it if you are invited to a trial by a pharmaceutical company, rather than sourcing it elsewhere.

While Ozempic primarily targets just one receptor to signal fullness, reta simultaneously hits three, which is why many predict that it will become the strongest drug on the market when it comes to weight loss.

Eli Lily, who produce Retatrutide, told LADbible: “Retatrutide is an investigational, once-weekly, triple hormone receptor agonist, which activates the body's receptors for glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), and glucagon. It is an investigational molecule and cannot legally be sold to the public. It has not been reviewed or approved by any regulatory agency in the world. No one should consider taking anything claiming to be retatrutide outside of a Lilly-sponsored clinical trial. The company continues to warn the public about the potential dangers of fake medicines.

”Based on data from the TRIUMPH-1 study of retatrutide announced on 21 May 2026, the types of adverse events seen were generally consistent with trials of other incretin-based therapies. The most common adverse events among participants treated with retatrutide (4 mg, 9 mg, 12 mg, vs. placebo, respectively) were nausea (28.6%, 38.4% and 42.4% vs. 14.8%), diarrhea (25.2%, 34.1% and 32.0% vs. 13.5%), constipation (23.8%, 25.9% and 26.1% vs. 10.9%), vomiting (10.6%, 22.8% and 25.3% vs. 4.8%), and upper respiratory tract infection (14.2%, 12.2% and 13.1% vs. 11.6%). Incidences of dysesthesia occurred in 5.1%, 12.3%, and 12.5% of patients treated with retatrutide 4 mg, 9 mg, and 12 mg, respectively, compared with 0.9% with placebo, and incidences of urinary tract infections occurred in 7.5%, 8.8%, and 8.4% of patients treated with retatrutide 4 mg, 9 mg, and 12 mg, respectively, compared with 5.3% with placebo. Events of dysesthesia and urinary tract infections were generally mild to moderate, the majority resolved during treatment, and most participants continued taking retatrutide. Discontinuation rates due to adverse events were 4.1%, 6.9%, 11.3%, with retatrutide 4 mg, 9 mg, and 12 mg, respectively, compared with 4.9% with placebo.”
