When she was in high school, Daniela Ridener says she wore a cup size B bra before growing to a DD when she headed off to college in 2018.

But when she got an IUD (also known as the coil) fitted after meeting her husband, Jordan Ridener, the now 31-year-old says her boobs rapidly started to grow.

It became extremely painful for Daniela, from Lubbock, Texas, US, who ended up having surgery to make them smaller.

By the time she and Jordan were engaged in 2020, she was a size H and when she reached her wedding day in January 2022, they had jumped eight cup sizes to a size P.

“I feel like it was birth control. The doctors were adamant that it wasn't but I had just got an IUD fitted and they [my breasts] immediately started growing,” she said.

“I gained 50lbs but I didn't change pant sizes. Nothing changed apart from how big my boobs were getting, this is the only thing that grew.”

With a height of 5ft 7 inches, Daniela experienced extreme back pain, and was left out of breath when trying to do everyday tasks like the washing up or shaving her legs.

And when she would get her period, her breasts would feel ‘heavy’.

“They would hurt so my husband would pick them up for me to take the weight off,” she explained.

'People have mistaken me for having plastic surgery because they were so big'

Daniela picked out a dress for her wedding but by the time the big day came around, she had ‘to get it completely remade’ with the top part removed as her breasts had grown too big.

She was unable to get a reduction ahead of the wedding and would have people staring at her in public.

"People have mistaken me for having plastic surgery because they were so big,” Daniela said.

Standing up for long periods of time would lead to her getting ‘back spasms’.

"When I walked, I was huffing and puffing and wheezing. Even shaving my legs was really hard to do,” she added.

"Picking things up was hard because they would just get in the way.”

Life-changing reduction surgery taking her from a P cup to a B

She eventually underwent surgery in August 2022, dropping 14 cup sizes down to a B.

But beforehand, she said she developed ‘wounds’ on her chest which would get infections due to her 'paper thin' skin having to stretch so much as her boobs grew.

"We went to a female doctor in Dallas and she took one look at me and was like, 'yeah, you need this done', and really helped me push for the surgery.

"They told me to do the surgery I would have to have a mastectomy and they had to rebuild everything because they were so heavy, everything had dropped to the bottom.

"They had to rebuild what I had and they couldn't save my nipples as my skin was so stretched. I was just shocked at how small they were [post-surgery]. I was so happy and they were so light. The recovery was good and super easy."

'People don't stare at me now'

Daniella had 2st of skin removed during the op and now has two kids, with her cup size back at a D after becoming a mum.

“I can't imagine how big they would have grown [while pregnant] if I hadn't got the surgery done beforehand,” she said. "I'm losing weight now [as well] and my boobs are getting smaller. People don't stare at me now.”

It is not clear in reports which IUD Daniela had or that it definitely caused the growth.
