Here is the average number of times a person will have a one-night stand in their lives, following Charlize Theron's raunchy admission about bedding a 26-year-old.
If you've been wondering why the Mad Max actor has been trending over the past couple of days, it's because Theron recently opened up about what her sex life is looking like as she approaches 50.
"I've probably had three one-night stands in my entire life," she revealed on a recent episode of Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast.
"But I did just recently f**k a 26-year-old, and it was really f**king amazing.

"I've never done that. And I was like, ‘Oh, this is great. OK.'"
Theron went on to add that having a one-night stand isn't something which she is usually down for, adding: "I don't have many of them. I'm sitting here sounding like I do. So when I do, I'm like, ‘Oh, f**k yeah, I should have done this in my twenties.

"I'm having the kind of sex I never had in my twenties or in my thirties."
Theron's racy admission has, of course, got us all talking about how often people are getting freaky in the sheets with a new lover, and where these casual hookups are starting.

So, how often are people partaking? According to one study conducted by data scientists surveying 500 Americans and Europeans about the number of one-night stands they've had, it turns out they're pretty common.
The research discovered that 66 percent of of people surveyed - which is 660 out of 1000 - revealed they'd had at least one casual hookup in their lives.
When it comes to the average number of times the respondents had engaged in such casual encounters, American men had around seven one-night stands, while US woman had a total of six.

Meanwhile, Europeans are trailing behind our American counterparts in this raunchy race, racking up six and four notches on their bedposts, respectively.

As for the locations where people are meeting their mysterious lovers, the tradition trumps technology as nearly half of the US recipients met their one-night stand partners at the bar.
Perhaps surprisingly, dating apps came in at a distant third, with only 21 percent sourcing a hook-up online.
