Spicy cruises may sound like a free, liberating experience, but they can be daunting for polyamorous couples experiencing them for the first time.
One couple who are known for making content about the swinging lifestyle, have opened up about their own experiences on spicy cruises and highlighted the importance of having an open mind.
You may have heard of Bella and Jase before, though they are known on social media as '4ourplay'.
The high school sweethearts have been together since 2007, but decided to give swinging a try around seven years into their relationship - a decision they haven't questioned since.

They have opened up on the ins and outs of spicy cruises in the past, with most of these trips dedicated to the swinging lifestyle - obviously being adults-only cruises.

The couple have been on a number of spicy cruises over the years, with the prospect of like-minded couples getting on a ship to parttake in NSFW activities becoming increasingly more popular.
Last year, Bella and Jase documented their trip onboard the Bliss Cruise takeover of the Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas, revealing what it's like being on a cruise dedicated to swinging.
But they're somewhat seasoned veterans at this point - they were once inexperienced and new to the concept and to ease the nerves of couples who may be in a similar position, they have shared four huge mistakes they made on their first spicy cruise.
Expecting to find partners straight away
Taking to Instagram, they posted a number of slides explaining each mistake they made and offered advice to couples looking to board a spicy cruise one day.
They explained that they went in with 'the expectation of finding play partners at the forefront', but they explained: "We learned pretty quickly that expectations for play and connections can quietly set you up for disappointment."
The couple explained that you should focus on having fun with your partner, soaking in the experience, and having clear boundaries.
Waiting to be approached
They admitted that 'making friends changes everything' on holidays like this, something that they had to learn through experience.
Bella and Jase added: "We stayed in our comfort zone, felt a little awkward, and let nerves creep in instead of saying hello.
"Once we started introducing ourselves and saying yes to conversations, the entire experience shifted."
Pressure to 'do it all'
They admitted that there was pressure to 'attend every event, every party, be there for every moment', which resulted in burn out and a less enjoyable experience.
The swingers said that it's always 'better to choose what excites you most' so you can bring your 100 percent to it, instead of pushing yourself to do too much.
"It's a marathon, not a sprint!" the content creators highlighted.

Putting no effort into outfits
Similar to some regular cruises, there are themed nights on board spicy cruises too.
They admitted: "You never HAVE to dress on theme; skipping them is completely fine. But for us, planning outfits together built excitement before the trip even started."
The couple said that their outfits were 'instant icebreakers', helping to start conversations and with that aspect now 'one of our favorite parts of the experience'.
