A British woman has revealed how she is saving herself an eye-watering amount each year after leaving her home in the UK for a life at sea.
Most of us spend 51 weeks a year dreaming about the week-long cruise we've booked for the summer, but others have the luxury - or curse depending on your standpoint - of spending all their life living on a splendid ship at sea.
While there might be some consequences attached to living full-time onboard a cruise ship, such as losing your 'land legs', it seems pretty obvious that the positives include being able to travel the world, never having to cook or clean, and avoiding paying half your wage for a tiny one-bed flat in London.

Although that seemingly has never been a real issue for wealthy divorcee Mimi Bland, she decided to abandon her £500,000 home in Buckinghamshire and dipped into her savings to splash £850,000 on a flat aboard the new MV Narrative, and she's certainly not the first to have that idea.
The 59-year-old explained that she was spending roughly £70,000 on necessities such as rent, food and five holidays each year, but she will spend far less than that when she starts her new life exploring the world, with Bland expecting to spend the small amount of £50k each year while on the boat.

She said: "I want to see the world while working and without ever leaving the comfort of my own home and meet lots of other ambitious people who are looking for a new life of excitement and fun.
"I am 60 next year and it is time for a re-set. I love my life helping highly successful executives to de-stress their lives and achieve a better work-life balance.

"But I realised that I needed to do that for myself and embark on an exciting new journey of adventure and discovery."
Bland plans to work as a mindfulness mentor while on board and like everyone else since the pandemic first hit, has realised just how easy it is for her to do her job from home.
She added: "I think we have all gone through a big change in the last three years and we have realised that many of us are lucky enough to be able to work from anywhere in the world.

"In my new life, the crew take care of everything and I get to run my business, see the world and meet other executives who are also looking to have a good time.

"I cannot wait to set sail on the next phase of my life. I want to carry on working for as long as I can and I will do my mindset mentoring with residents on the ship and also with clients back home who see me online.
As long as she gets used to the terrifying reality of cruises at night, it sounds like she will have the time of her life.
For those of you looking into buying one of these flats, prices range from £500k to £7.5m... so I hope you've been saving up.
