A former Disney Cruise Line worker has lifted the lid on some of the weirder elements of the Mickey Mouse holiday package as the company delves into its archives for a strange Incredibles-inspired baby game.

The Disney Cruise Line has been a staple part of the family holiday since 1996, and Lucy Southerton spent her early years working as a massage therapist floating around the world.

The Birmingham-native spent a decade travelling the world on cruise ships and now offers the weird and wonderful events across the seven seas on her YouTube channel, Cruising as Crew.

The YouTuber has previously detailed dating on cruise ships, but now she's revealed something much more lighthearted and, somehow, slightly stranger.

Southerton, who has almost 90,000 subscribers on the platform, divulges incredible information on what it's really like to be sailing the seas for most of the year.

And this includes a 'weird and wonderful' game babies can play on the Disney ships.

Like Disneyland on the open seas, the corporation come up with ingenious ideas to keep both babies and their parents happy while on board.

Dubbed Jack Jack's Diaper Dash by the Mickey Mouse holiday package, it involves babies crawling against each other in a bizarre race to the finish while enthusiastic parents cheer them on.

Southerton describes the unique sporting event as 'really light-hearted fun', but it can get competitive between parents and there's even been disqualifications on board.

"While I was on a Disney Cruise line a baby took his first steps while in the race and the whole room erupted and was like, 'Oh my god'," explained Southerton.

"Unfortunately he was disqualified," she then added, before explaining parent's devious tactics to win the comical crawl to the finish line.

Against all odds, Southerton became more interested in the actions of the parents rather than the competitive babies battling it out to become number one.

"Usually you have one parent giving the child a gentle nudge and then the 'favourite' parent at the finish line making faces and doing all of these things to try and entice their child to crawl to them as fast as they can," she explains. "It is hilarious!"

If Disney+ is listening, I think we've just found their next smash hit TV series.

And here's us thinking cruises were all Margaritas by the pool and sunbathing on the top deck. It's a far cry from Below Deck!
