Passenger's terrifying video showing reality of cruises at night may put you off going on one for life

I mean, you can't really call it a 'view'

Cruises are the ultimate holiday for many people.

Some dream of even going on one, while others travel to all kinds of places from the floating hotels every year.

I mean, there are people who love them so much they end up living on cruise ships.

And with so much cruise content going round, plenty of us have simply just built up a fascination with them.

But whether you ever intended to or not, one passenger’s terrifying video showing the reality of them at night might put you off going on one for life.

One TikToker showed how eerily black the sea looks after dark, with the video showing the view from someone’s balcony.

Well, to be honest, I think I’m using the word ‘view’ very loosely here because there’s absolutely nothing to view. And I mean nothing.

Posted onto YouTube shorts by @planetcruise, the clip starts off from inside the cabin of a ship. Then, as they head out of the doors and onto the little balcony, everything basically disappears.

It’s totally black on the other side of the rail and as the camera moves from side to side, you can just see some of the lights from the ship’s top deck and somewhat make out a neighbouring balcony.

But other than the glimmer of the odd bit of light reflecting, you can’t even see the waves moving below the beast of a boat.

So, to explain ‘what it’s like being on a cruise at night’, according to this video, it’s being in total and utter darkness with nothing at all to see.

And the more you think about and consider it, the creepier gets. Imagine not even being able to see where you are or what’s below you – that’s some eerie sh*t.

Responding to another TikTok of cruise ships at night, one user unnervingly pointed out: “Imagine falling overboard at night, you survive the fall. Nobody saw it. You see the ship leaving. You’re alone and see nothing."

This then led to another slamming: “You cannot pay me enough to go on a cruise.”

Plenty of people have been put off cruising because of the darkness while one eerily said: “Now imagine being on the Titanic with no moonlight…”

Although, one did comment on the YouTube short: “I have been on deck 20. There is nothing to see except the massive screen and people dancing. Amazing, Loved it.”

A spokesperson for Cunard told LADBible: “As part of standard maritime procedures, our Captains may make precautionary announcements when sailing through certain regions. There was no specific threat to the ship or its guests, and our onboard experience remained uninterrupted.”
