Carnival cruise clarifies cabin safety rule that's left passengers horrified

It's amazing how far some people will go to save a few minutes

For those of us that frequently journey on cruise ships, it's pretty common knowledge that you should do your best to keep up to date with the latest rules and regulations.

Carnival Cruise Line has made a number of changes over the years, from removing traditional spaces to new boarding rules, which has resulted in a number of passengers taking to social media to clarify rules before starting their voyages.

While most of the questions are pretty straight forward, and make sense for holiday makers to ask, sometimes they do get a little... well, weird.

John Heald, the brand ambassador for Carnival Cruise Lines, recently had one such weird question over on Facebook, and it's left fans of the cruise line horrified.

Heald often uses his Facebook profile to give passengers vital information about their upcoming trips with Carnival, as well as the many rules that come with sailing onboard their ships.

Heald's recent post leaves out the name of the customer asking the question, assumably to save them from embarrassment over the onslaught that ensued in the comments.

The message from the anonymous user reads: "John me and millions of others brush our teeth in the shower. I wonder if the bathroom cabin shower water on the Carnival ships is safe to brush teeth? Seems asking you about dental hygiene makes me a doofus but it needs to be answered."

A rather shocked Heald responds to the frankly weird question with: "Yes indeed, I have no right to have an opinion on dental hygiene madam. However, I will say people who brush their teeth in the shower are operating on a level of efficiency I have no desire of achieving FFS."

He followed up by adding: "Yes, the water in the shower is safe on all of our ships is safe to brush your teeth with but I have to ask………do you brush your teeth in the shower?"

This led to a hoard of 'sick' emojis and other social media users showing disgust in the fact someone would brush their teeth while in the shower, with one user even pondering where you would put the toothbrush when you're done.

They said: "Never have I ever even thought about brushing my teeth in the shower. That's gross, what comes to mind is the backsplash and where do you stick your toothbrush when you're finished... No don't answer that."

While most Carnival cruise fans were quick to show their disgust at the thought of brushing your teeth in the shower, a small few came the the defence of these shower brushers, with one user taking it even further and admitting: "I have brushed mine in the shower.

"In a hurry to get ready.... oh.... and I pee in the shower too... oh no."

To be honest, I'm wondering if they're saving extra time and showering, brushing and peeing at the same time, because that would be multitasking at its absolute finest.

Just in case you're wondering, Carnival Cruise Line haven't explicitly stated whether peeing in the shower is against their rules and frankly, I didn't want to be the one to reach out for comment on that subject.

So, if you've been trying to find ways to shave off wasted time while enjoying a Carnival Cruise Line holiday, it's good news, you can officially shower and brush your teeth at the same time.

Although the jury's not out on whether you can also pee at the same time, but you do you I say.
