If you've never been on a cruise ship before, the chances are when you think of one, you'll picture bright blue skies, lounging by the pool on top desk and sipping on cocktails from the bar.
And don't get us wrong, that's absolutely what a lot of cruise life is like, but have you ever stopped to think about what cruises are like at nighttime?
As it turns out, a lot of people haven't, after one woman took to TikTok to share a little glimpse of what cruises look like after dark, leaving lots of people quite frankly terrified.
Cruise content creator Victoria, who posts from her @victorias.way page, posted a clip showing the difference looking out at sea from day to night, writing: "Cruises are fun until you realise... how dark the ocean is."

The clip, which has been viewed more than 23 million times, has been inundated with comments from TikTok users who have been disturbed at the thought of being on a cruise at sea overnight, and it's not hard to see why.
"I think we all can agree that Thalassophobia is the most understandable fear a human ever have," one user commented, referring to a phobia of large bodies of water.
Another commented saying: "One of my biggest fears," alongside a crying face emoji.
"I went out at night, no one there, and realised if I just made a step I'd be completely utterly alone and soon dead," one cruise goer recalled. "Never before felt fear like that."
However, hundreds of comments were quick to mention the tragedy of what happened to the Titanic, highlighting just how terrifying it must've been to experience in the dead of night.
"People on the Titanic had to swim in that kind of dark in freezing water while listening to thousand scream," one commented, while another added: "Now imagine what the people on the Titanic went through."
Meanwhile, others brought up the case of missing cruise passenger Amy Bradley, who mysteriously went missing from her cabin on the Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas cruise ship in 1998.
"The Amy Bradley case was my immediate thought," one wrote, as a second added: "Ever since I heard of the Amy Bradley case I will never ever step foot on a cruise ship."
Luckily for anyone planning a trip on a cruise any time soon, the endless entertainment, delicious food and multiple bars usually serve as a pretty good distraction at nighttime.
