Flight attendant reveals the one common plane habit she says should 'be illegal'

She spoke about the three things that should be banned on flights, but one stands above the rest as the worst

If there's something that the majority of people agree with, it's pet peeves on flights.

One of the worst things you can experience when you're on a long-haul flight is someone inconsiderate and downright rude sitting next to you. It's enough to drive anyone mad, especially in a cramped plane with almost no personal space.

But according to one of the flight attendants that have to deal with these passengers on a day-to-day basis, there are three things you should absolutely avoid doing on your air travels.

In fact, she claims that it should be 'illegal'.

American air hostess Cher Killough has been in the role for five years and took to TikTok to share 'things that should be illegal to do on a plane'.

She's not the first flight attendant to voice their opinion to the public when it comes to onboard etiquette, either.

So, what should you be wary of exactly?

Strong smells

The two main causes of this are body odour or strong perfume, but either way, you should avoid inconveniencing others with them.

"I don’t care if it’s good or bad, no-one wants to smell whatever fragrance you decided to wear today," Killough explained.

She added: "It’s already an environment where people are prone to getting nauseous, having an extra fragrance on top of that is just not a good mix."

Of course, perfume is better than odour, so basically, wear deodorant and light perfume.

But what about the single worst thing you can do on a plane?

Manspreading

By far and away, the Dallas-based flight attendant said that this is the worst thing that you can do onboard, especially if you're 'manspreading when you're in a middle seat'.

Killough explained: "Any type of seat should be unacceptable and I've been a passenger, I have had that numerous times where men will spread their knees all the way into my seat section, or the other person on the other side of me, and it's just unacceptable."

Additionally, she called out the guilty, saying that 'it's always the shortest ones that are doing it' and that if she's 5'8" 'a little 5'6" man' should also be able to squeeze into their seat.

Social media users agreed in the comments section, as one wrote: "When they man spread in the middle, I make myself as big as possible til they get the hint"

Another said: "If someone man spreads I just lean my legs against him. He’ll move and retract eventually."

A third simply added: "Man spreading - please stop!!!"

It might be an epidemic.

Getting your toes out

The third thing that Willough urged people not to do is 'have your bare toes out in the cabin', joking that 'you seriously deserve to go to jail' if you do this.

"If you have your bare toes out when you go to the bathroom, I see this all the time and it should be against the law, but in general I don't wanna see your toes at all," she highlighted.

The flight attendant simply recommended that you wear shoes, or at least socks, at all times when you're onboard, or you could even get pee on your feet when you use the toilet.

In all seriousness, which wrong 'un is walking around the cabin with their bare feet touching the ground? The thought makes me shiver.
