Man makes creepy discovery after noticing luxury resort he was staying at was very quiet

He's saying there are no other guests at all at the hotel

A man staying at a luxury resort is absolutely loving his time there, apart from one really hard to ignore detail, there's basically nobody else there with him.

While you might want to get away for a bit of peace and quiet on your holidays, you'd still want the hotel to be a certain level of populated when you get there - if only for ambiance.

That's not what happened to one TikToker and his wife when they showed up to the Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos luxury resort situated right on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja peninsula.

If you're looking for it on a map it's that dangly bit on Mexico's Pacific coast, and right at the tip is a luxury resort par excellence.

The only thing that seems to be wrong with the place is the lack of people, with the TikToker taking viewers on a tour of several seemingly deserted slices of paradise.

On the plus side you've got the place to yourself, but where are all the people?

Pools, restaurants and relaxation areas seem to have only staff and absolutely no guests, creating an eerie feeling.

While the couple had absolutely no complaints about the place itself, they did want to know why the hotel wouldn't upgrade them to a snazzier room if there didn't appear to be any other guests around.

In other videos from the TikToker he claimed that he asked whether he could be upgraded, only to be told by hotel staff that nothing was available.

That didn't seem to chime with the deserted vibe the resort was giving off - with the TikToker comparing the experience to an episode of Black Mirror - and he claimed that people were telling him they were trying to book the place only to be told the venue was fully booked.

While he could find hotel staff easily enough, every space for guests was entirely deserted, leaving some spooky scenes of a bar with a bartender ready to serve drinks and a game of basketball on the TV, but absolutely no patrons.

People in the comments speculated as to what was going on, with some wondering whether the videos were genuine or not.

Others suggested that the TikToker and his wife had booked their stay during the off-season where people aren't usually on their holidays, and resorts can do some much needed maintenance work.

Someone else said he'd been at the resort 'a few weeks ago' and it had been about 40 percent full.

More told him to just enjoy the experience of having a luxury resort to himself with pools, bars and restaurants all at his disposal with no waiting times.

Plenty of others said they'd absolutely love to turn up at a resort and discover it was like this.

LADbible contacted Velas Resorts for comment and were told that they always have staff there regardless of the number of guests staying, and aim to have a ration of three staff members for each guest that may be staying at a resort.

They also explained that they were 'limiting the number of suites available for booking' and would be doing so 'until we are confident that all aspects of the resort would surpass travelers' expectations'.
