A fierce debate has been sparked online after a man decided to take a flight to London, just to stay for one night.

Social media influencer Kevin Droniak shares his many travelling adventures on his Instagram page to his 120k followers, but one of his latest videos seems to have angered more than a few of his fans.

In the clip, he shares that he's flying from New York to London, but only for an overnight stay and a single day in the UK.

The viral video currently has 2.6 million views on Instagram, as well as 112k likes and over 2,450 comments - fair to say it has caught the attention of those beyond his community.

He opens the video by explaining: “If you don’t travel often, you’re going to have a conniption at what I’m doing right now,

“I’m going to London for just one night. That’s why I’m heading to the airport with just a backpack,” Kevin said.

The travelling influencer outlined that he was only going to London for one day on the basis that he 'found a cheap flight'.

Saying that he loves 'a quick trip', the online personality said that the check-in lady couldn't believe that he was 'flying across the world' for such a short stay.

Then, he explained his thinking behind the decision and why it made sense it his head, to viewers.

He revealed: “My flight is only six and a half hours, and it’s a red eye,

“And I’m going to be going to sleep anyway tonight. So I might as well go to sleep on a plane and wake up in London.”

Makes sense, I suppose.

He shared footage of the plane approaching London from his passenger window, saying: “Good morning London. There is nowhere else I’d rather wake up to.”

After arriving in the city, he joked: “What am I doing here?”

His main goal behind posting the video was revealed later, when he walked through iconic parts of London, such as Tower Bridge.

“I want to break the stigma of having to block out a week to travel somewhere,

“It’s not that serious and you’re going to have fun for a quick trip,” the influencer claimed.

He then signed the video off while sitting at the front of a double decker bus, looking as happy as ever to be in the British capital, saying: “I’m just enjoying the day.”

Calling his decision 'cheeky' in his caption, viewers felt mixed in the comments section, with several people saying that boarding the flight for a night stay is bad for the environment, with others claiming that some people can't afford to travel as spontaneously as he can.

One wrote: "Fun content, but it’s also very polluting!"

Another posted: "How out of touch and rich do you have to be to make content like this?"

A third joked: "Okay, slow down Taylor Swift."

Others defended him in the comments though, with one user putting: "Yall talking about pollution like the plane wasn’t going there anyway."

A fifth said: "Not to take up for this stranger but ONE guy taking a flight that’s already going to LDN and NYC isn’t going to ruin the world. Talk to the CEOs of these huge corporations about polluting!"

A different user posted: "Yessss hunny! That wake up in London hits like none other."
