There are two kinds of people when it comes to travelling: people who like to sit in the window seat on a plane, and those of us who need the freedom of the aisle seat.
But regardless which category you fall into, we can all agree there's nothing worse than getting stuck in the middle seat, especially when travelling on your own.
Fortunately, one budget airline has come up with a solution for solo travellers, or even people travelling as a pair who just need a little of extra room, by offering the option to block out the middle seat.
Yep, you'll officially be able to guarantee a free seat next to you as part of a new business-class style trial by low-cost airline Wizz Air.

While the Hungarian-based airline has often come under fire for its no-frills approach to flying, the new 'Wizz Class' upgrade will have a number of different perks.

In addition to allowing flyers the ability to block off the middle seat, anyone who pays for the extra pass will receive priority boarding, a carry-on bag and space in the overhead bins.
The trial of the new service will start this December on routes from London, Rome, Warsaw, Budapest and Bucharest, according to Wizz Air chief corporate officer Michael Delehant.
"in terms of fares, it’s never going to be more than buying the cost of another seat, it’s not meant to be a money-grab," he said at a press conference according to Bloomberg.

While the premium air tickets won't include any extras like food and drinks, commercial officer Silvia Mosquera says the trial is a direct response to Wizz's customers 'seeking more space, comfort and a quicker exit from the aircraft'.

She told the Independent: "The roll-out of Wizz Class follows feedback from our growing number of business travellers who value low-cost travel options and prefer additional space during the flight."
Mosquera added that when the product launches, additional benefits will also be announced.
Currently, there are certain tickets that can be purchased to include the free booking of seats, under Wizz Plus and Privilege Pass, but these do not include any perks when it comes space, which is where the Wizz Class ticket will differ.

It will be interesting to see just how much of a price difference there is between a standard ticket and a Wizz Class ticket - because who can put a price on not scrunching up to strangers?
