A man was left stunned by WeBuyAnyCar's valuation of his fancy Audi R8.

Harley Perkins posted a YouTube video in 2024 of himself taking his V10 Plus model to a car dealership. The content creator claimed he bought his supercar for £74,000 and couldn't 'believe how much WeBuyAnyCar offered me'.

"When I heard the price I nearly fainted, it's absolutely ridiculous but you're about to find out so let's do it," he said.

Harley revealed that the car-selling service said they would give him £58,000 for his Audi, a lot less than what he expected.

"So I bet you're all wondering how do WeBuyAnyCar come up with the price," he continued. "Well, all they do is type in your reg, type in the mileage, have a look around, so they'll put it's in very good condition or s**t condition and then just give you a rough price."

He acknowledged that 'if you do go ahead with it, they'll probably knock about two, three grand off the price, you know what they're like'.

However, once they told him that they would pay £16,000 less than what he paid for it, he thought they were 'taking the

mick out of me'.

"That's absolutely ridiculous," he complained. "Oh my God, I was about to faint when he said the price. "I'm never coming back to this place ever again."

Over in the comments, meanwhile, people weren't massively surprised with the offer from WeBuyAnyCar.

"It's instant cash without the hassle of selling and they gotta make a couple quid," one person wrote.

"Not their target market. The cars just get sent to auction," a second penned.

While a third added: "Honestly, that's about the price I would expect.

"Finding a buyer for it would be difficult, and they need to be on the safe side if it has hidden damages etc.

"If you like a better price you probably need to sell it private, maybe a dealership would offer a little bit more."

Someone else said: "It's business," and that 'they buy to resell, so you're not going to get as much. They need to make money'.

WeBuyAnyCar recommend customers to use their online valuation tool, which they say 'is fast, intuitive and completely free to use'.

"Simply enter the vehicle’s registration and mileage and our car value checker will tell you its current value (based on real-time market data)," their website reads.

"Knowing the value of a car can be helpful in a variety of scenarios, including when selling your car, knowing what it's worth can help you set the right price point.

"You can also use your valuation to select a minimum and maximum price to help you negotiate with potential buyers."
