A woman who lost over two stone in weight while taking Mounjaro has claimed that she can no longer drink alcohol while taking the medication as it allegedly leaves her feeling 'poisoned'.
Jessica Wood, 48, from Watford, was inspired to begin taking the jabs after she saw a friend lose a whopping eight stone.
She paid £245 for a course of the jabs after putting on weight during lockdown, followed by a split from her husband.
After weighing 12.5 stone and having had no previous side effects from the weight loss injections, Jessica went on a night out, which was the first time she had drank alcohol since taking the meds.

She says that despite only drinking four 'watered down' cocktails, she began falling over and vomiting, before enduring a two-day stomach ache.

"I was throwing up from this thing, and then I got carted off to some welfare area, because they thought I’d taken too many," she explained.
“They were talking to me like I was some kind of criminal, and I was like ‘no, I’ve just taken Mounjaro!’
“I just wanted it to be a nice night but I couldn’t, the stomach ache was just relentless. It was like I’d poisoned myself. It was horrible.
“It was the first time I’d drunk while on it, and I didn’t know it was going to be that bad. I’m never going to do it again.”
Jessica shared her experience with Sell Us Your Story, explaining she ended up falling head first on the night out and has vowed never to drink while taking Mounjaro again.
"Initially I didn’t think about it, I just thought I was feeling quite merry," she said.
"Then by 11pm I started getting this stomach ache, and it just got worse and worse.
“Unfortunately my friends weren’t giving up on going out, but by about 5am I had to go, because I couldn’t stand.
"I’d fallen head first into a grass area and chucked a drink over my hair by this point! I’m not usually like that.
“There was loads of throwing up, that’s when I was taken to the safety check room, I was like ‘I’m a 48-year-old woman, give me a break'.
“The stomach ache stayed with me until 4pm the next afternoon, and it was just so painful, even if it gradually got better.
“I can’t say ‘it’s ruined my drinking life or whatever’, because I can have fun without it. I don’t really tend to drink at home luckily – or unluckily, maybe I would’ve found out sooner."

Mounjaro manufacturer, Eli Lilly were approached for comment over the claims. They said: "Patient safety is Lilly’s top priority. We take reports about patient safety seriously and investigate and report safety events in accordance with regulatory requirements.
"We encourage patients to consult their doctor or other healthcare professional about any possible side effects they may be experiencing.
"Mounjaro (tirzepatide) should only be prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional and prescriptions should be fulfilled and supplied only by registered pharmacies and providers."
