Most Grateful Pit Bull Ever Cannot Stop Cuddling His New Mum

Most Grateful Pit Bull Ever Cannot Stop Cuddling His New Mum

Jealous.

Is there such a thing as an ungrateful dog? No, I don't think there is.

A furry companion will be the greatest, most loyal and least troublesome friend you'll ever have, so it's odd that we're all still messing about with mates we've had for years, who become a right pain in the arse after a few drinks. Dogs don't do that.

It's hard to pick a canine that is worthy of being the 'most grateful', but Russ the pit bull might just deserve the title.

Kayla Filoon adopted Russ, rescuing him from a shelter where he was underweight, had patchy fur and had a bloody tail, as well as suffering from an eye infection and a kennel cough.

His new mum instantly fell in love with him, which no one can blame her for, so she gave him a new home where he'd be smothered with love.

She played with Russ, who was apparently surprisingly calm at the shelter where she was a dog walker, and she was sure that she wanted to take him home.

Now, the lovable pit bull cannot stop cuddling her.

"There was a whole other sofa open, and we had his bed on the floor, but he didn't want to lie anywhere else," she told Dodo. "So he ends up positioning himself, and I look down, and I think, 'Oh my gosh, look at him.'

"The bond that we have is incredible. He does not leave my side."

Dog envy is a thing, right? Because I think we all have it right now.

If you needed anymore evidence that dogs are the greatest companions ever, then look no further. Mistle the springer spaniel is a prime example of this as she stayed by her owner's side for five hours after he took a tumble during a walk.

David Sparkes had taken Mistle for an evening walk, and after falling to his death she remained loyal, refusing to leave until police found him.

After David didn't return home his family alerted police that he was missing, finding him along the River Severn at Holt Fleet.

The 65-year-old's daughter, Sally, said her dad and his dog had a "very special bond."

"Mistle stayed with him until the very end. She lay with him until we found him," Sally said. "She didn't move from his side even when the police found him in the field.

"It is a bit of comfort when nobody was with my dad. At least the dog was with him.

"It doesn't surprise me though really. They were inseparable."

Sally says that Mistle became very poorly because she missed David so much, and still looks for him.

The family are so proud of their dog, saying her loyalty summed up their special relationship.
