It may have been a shocking six years since the final Harry Potter movie was released (oh, how time flies), but that hasn't stopped us wondering why Vincent Crabbe's character was replaced by Blaise Zabini in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.

If you've read the books, then you'll remember the scene when Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle fought Harry, Ron and Hermione during the battle of Hogwarts.
So why was Crabbe, played by Jamie Waylett, replaced by Zabini in the film?
As it turns out, Waylett was a naughty boy outside of the role, and his choices cost him his spot in the last part of the franchise.
The BBC reported that the actor, who was 20 years old at the time, was found guilty of growing marijuana at his home, but also admitted to possession of cannabis and a knife.
As a consequence, the young man was sentenced to 120 hours unpaid work by Westminster Magistrates' Court.
This took place in 2009 and the second part of the film was released two years later in 2011.

Waylett was arrested in the same year for his involvement in the London riots, after being pictured 'holding a petrol bomb' and 'swigging from a stolen bottle of champagne'.
This earned the actor a two-year sentence for violent disorder, and a further 12 months for handling stolen goods.
Naturally this confirmed his removal from the Harry Potter franchise, which is when Warner Bros made the decision to completely replace his character with Zabini, played by Louis Cordice.
Well then!
Meanwhile, fans of the Potter franchise have another film to look forward to, after Warner Brothers gave their backing to the fan-funded Voldemort: Origin of the Heir. Watch the trailer below:

The movie stars Stefano Rossi as the young Tom Marvolo Riddle, the future Dark Lord Voldemort himself, during his rise to power. Maddalena Orcali, meanwhile, plays a brand new character: Grisha MacLaggen, the heir to Gryffindor.
Warner Bros. have already thrown some weight behind their own Potter prequels, with the recent hit Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, the story of 'magizoologist' Newt Scamander, proving a big success.
