Secretly send chocolate to loved ones this Christmas and Cadbury will donate a bar on your behalf to a food bank in the Trussell Trust network

'Tis the season of giving and thinking about others, whether that's your best mate, your nan or someone you've never even met before.

The Cadbury Secret Santa Postal Service is back and once again you can send chocolate secretly to a loved one, for free! And, for the second year in a row, for every Cadbury Secret Santa bar sent, one will be donated to a food bank in the Trussell Trust network to help make Christmas special for everyone this year.

This winter, too many families are facing impossible decisions - ones they should never have to make - like whether to stay warm or buy food. The Trussell Trust is working to end the need for food banks in the UK but the sad fact is that food banks in its network face giving out over 7,000 emergency food parcels a day this December. This isn't right. Nobody should be forced to turn to a charity to put food on the table.

Last year, food banks in the Trussell Trust network provided more than 2.5 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis - nearly a million of those were for children.

When we think of what goes into a food parcel, many people think of items like bread, tinned fruit and vegetables, cereal, baked beans and pasta. And, while these foods are an essential helping hand for families in crisis, a bar of chocolate or a festive treat adds something a little special, a much-needed treat, especially at this time of year.

Sophie Carre, head of corporate partnerships at the Trussell Trust, said: "Christmas should be a time of joy and festivity - but the reality is that far too many people will face impossible decisions this winter, like putting food on the table or heating their homes.

"This is why the support of partners like Cadbury is so important as we work together to end the need for food banks in the UK. By becoming a Cadbury Secret Santa, you will be helping to make the festive season that little bit more special for people who find themselves needing a food bank at this time of year."
